    He was not running his business as each of his businesses have CEO's who run those businesses. Signing personal checks i suspect would be normal in the white house for any president as they do have lives outside of the office that doesn't stop just because you become president. The part of what you are missing is trumps assets were put into a trust which means you basically do not run anything outside of approval. Its common practice when business owners go into politics.

    There needs to be an even higher standard of lawful behavior for people who want to wield power from the highest office in the land. A grand jury already found the evidence sufficient and credible to charge the crime. The defendant hasn't really presented any reason for doubting the evidence and conclusion.

    Remember you don't have to be successful at committing a crime to be found guilty. How many times have bank robbery has been stopped in the middle of a bank robbery arrested and put in jail. Do you think that later on they just say well we didn't get the money so we're innocent. Take another step and you will see that Costello did attempt to suborn perjury but he failed.     The fact that the defense wasn’t able to refute anything the prosecutors presented as evidence says a lot. All the defense did was try to poke holes into the witnesses testimony and that didn’t go so well either.

    what is happening in the document case is beyond comprehension. Is there no checks and protection to ensure the judicial system is not compromised? Months have gone by with no forward movement. It's like the system is paralysed and unable to counter this fiasco.

    Unfortunately the court system has been slow but, it's also important to have sufficient and strong enough evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt. Due process I suppose .. personally I want the case to stick.

    The jury has to take the facts for what they are. And, these facts are pretty black & white. Anything but a guilty verdict will mean a bias jury. Plain & simple.

    I'm surprised people are still discussing if & when did Trump know about the accounting of these cheques in the financial books. In the meetings between Trump, Michael & Allan don't you think this very question was raised i.e. how the accounting would be done without raising suspicion? How could Trump not know - he was the only one who could have given the go-ahead.

    Maybe a stupid question... why don't you simply show what work (legal services) Cohen actually did for the 'payments for legal services"? "I paid Michael Cohen for the (fill in blank here) work he did for me" If it was simply a retainer for 'future services then just show us a historical pattern of Cohen billing you similar amounts for previous services.

    What Michael Steele said about Trump being a micromanager should apply fully to the fraud case in New York. Testimony implied that the finance officer handled all of those transactions. It might tend to mess up his appeal.

    The jury deliberation process is not like Alicia's describing it. If a juror has an issue with an aspect of the evidence, it is brought before the entire jury panel. Jurors are not necessarily sitting there bickering with each other. And the evidence is clear on its face. It's not reimbursement for legal fees.

    The Jury could ask why he wasn't but, I think in this case there's sufficient evidence..his signature and handwriting is confirmed.. irrefutable.. he's in prison anyway and being convicted doesn't make him a reliable witness for either side. Juries cannot call witnesses.
