I've always known about the spoon thing but have always just twirled it on the plate or my bread. It's not an Italian thing, it's a rich people, excuse for a more elaborate table setting thing.

I always eat my spaghetti with a spoon and fork but traditionally the Italians would twirl their spaghetti against the side of a pasta bowl or a raised lip...So funny....thanks guys!

OMG don't let Europeans especially Italians see you using a spoon to twirl spaghetti, they'll think you're crazy and whatever you do don't let them see you break spaghetti, they just might have a heart attack and think you're so uncultured😅 sometimes I break spaghetti just to make it fit into the pot just don't let Italians see you do that, they might disown you 🤨 I don't make the rules, just sayin what I learned living in Europe, people should just eat their food the way they enjoy it👍

This is priceless. Buddy, you are not the only one who doesn’t know. I am 74. When I was 14 I was a bridesmaid for a friend. So was my sister. We went with the bride to a spaghetti place. I could not eat mine! I ended up mortified, and crying to my sister because I was so embarrassed. She showed me the spoon trick like Gigi and Stephanie did for you. Nada! Still wasn’t working. I finally took my knife and cut it up like you’d feed a toddler. 😂. The others laughed at me but I gotter done! Funny, I don’t to this day actually enjoy spaghetti. I’ll eat it-but still keep my knife handy. Lovely re-creation of a memory. You guys rock. Thanks!!

I loved Knotts Berry Farm. Loved hearing the first dates of Gigi and Pawpaw. I lived,in california till i was 18. Left and would go visit my family once of twice a year.

I recall one of Dan's videos they head spaghetti, and he did use a spoon to roll, just shoveled in with a fork

I’m 66 and not Italian but we rolled spaghetti growing up. I roll spaghetti still but I don’t use the spoon because I don’t want to dirty the spoon.

I didn't know the spoon trick either! My ancestors were from the Czech Rebublic; when my great-grandmother & her kids came over on the ship, it was an Italian crew running it. When they served the kids spaghetti, my great-gran started crying--she thought they were giving the kids worms!!! 🤣🤤💜
