I would give a decent amount of money to see Seirwan playing chess with Dark techno playing in the background
This is the most important chess lecture anyone can ever watch. Yasser explains things so well and the subject matter is so crucial.
This guy's manner of speech is hypnotic. Draws you in completely.
This great master is the Uncle Iroh of Chess. In case you don't understand the reference - there is no higher praise. This man is an international treasure.
I’m a simple man, I see Yasser and I drop a like.

Thank you so much for making this Grand Master-thinking and intuition available for free on the internet: It honors and promotes chess to so many thousands. The laid-back style and hearing you describe your thought process in many situations is a gift to chess-pretenders like myself. Chess = Life
This is golden, and actually very entertaining too. Yasser with his deep knowledge of chess struggling to erase an arrow, or, I was grinning at 10:35 when, after chastising chess authors for using descriptive phrases such as 'the rook is powerful', Yasser is saying "Thanks to my very powerful rook..."
I love this so much! Strategy always seemed like a some sort of remote knowledge that suddenly appeared in the minds of great players, and this lessons, as basic as they are, made me really think about this concepts and start to have a glimpse on what strategy is, making me much more conscious of it! And also Yasser is just great and a pleasure to listen to. Keep'em coming brahs, I'm sure this might not be the most successful videos and people prefer when something absurd happens or high energy streams (which are great don't get me wrong), but this are to my eyes the greatest videos you have and the one's I appreciate the most.

Agreed. This video has real knowledge that players can use in their own games. Most of what you see on youtube or twitch is pure entertainment and in my opinion of low value. I do watch some chess for entertainment but its important to separate what is of real value and what isn't. This video is one of the most instructional chess videos I've ever seen in my years of watching chess videos on youtube.
No exaggeration, Yasser is one of the best teachers I have had the pleasure to witness.
Yasser's enthusiasm for the game is infectious

Yasser is the best and most importantly a kind and a natural born educator!! God bless you Yasser
These lessons are awesome. When I can learn something elementary and basic, that I didn't fully understand, that's a great teacher and a great lesson. Thank you Yasser and Chessbrahs! This is brilliant free content, and this playlist is going in my bookmarks for sure! Looking forward to the next ones

Be cautious. If I had a daughter I would warn her first not taking a narciss as partner. This has nothing to do with a great teaching video. Seirawan is a great teacher having delved deep into the game.
I remember watching Yasser explain these things ~23 years ago in chessmaster 4000 turbo teaching program. That was a huge revelation back then. Yet here I am and I still feel I can learn more. Damn need to hire him as a coach :P
Yasser you are great ches player and more then this you are great person you can give a chess lecture for players from elo 800 till 2600 you are capable to understand who is your audience and let them understand your thoughts. keep going and thanks from Israel

Yasser is just a gem to the chess world! Amazing stories and very clear explanations of chess principles.
I love that he questions the idea of powerful or strong. What does that even mean? It means this move controls more space! Key insight!

Very informative. Gives a whole new perception to strategy
Sometimes i dont feel like he knows how to communicate these ideas well but as i watch it becommes clear that he is so perfect at explaining these ideas that its hard to get him until he ties things together. He really breaks things down simple enough so i can fully understand his lessons.

Stay strong man!
Probably the best breakdowns I've ever heard Wish I was just learning these concepts for the first time
This is phenomenal lesson! While I'm rated 2000+ online on all time controls I don't necessarily think this clearly about the position of my pieces. I would highly recommend any beginners or even intermediate players review this lesson until they memorize all of it. Pawn structures are highly neglected by beginners and this is far more important than any other aspect of chess learning. At my level, if I thought this clearly about my pawn structures and their effect on my pieces I would easily be rated 200 points higher. Great lesson Yasser! Thanks!!
He sounds like he's getting ready to tell you a bed time story.
Somebody should definitely make that into a chess puzzle. You get a chess position and a piece. And you have to drop the piece in the strongest position . You can complicate things by having it be your move or enemy move. If it’s your move you have to drop the piece and then move it You could add positional sequences to it or tactics… But I think that would a really great way to develop better positional understanding

Think this is a very intelligent idea .. app idea maybe could make a decent living from something that instructional and useful

Another great video
when you think about the placement of knight and bishop this kinda reminds me london, maybe thats why it is easy to play
Pawns are singular but they move much more than than what bishop space is
Amazing!!
Great video
The question of what if a piece couldn't cross the middle of the board into "enemy territory" is really interesting because that's true of almost half the pieces that aren't pawns/footsoldiers
Hello Mr. Seirwan, I love your voice.
What is the name of the pawn structure at 17:19?

very informative
