I was in middle school when Homer did the Springfield Gorge attempt, and it was a sensation: everyone in school was talking about it.

I love that when Rick told the owner about the Ceasars Palace jump, the man who owns the item shook his head in amazement. He owns a bunch of his memorabilia. Like this man didn't most likely already know haha.

Evel was playing golf at Silver Dollar Golf club in Odessa Florida where I worked and met him in the parking lot after his round. Kept my 1988 Yamaha Banshee there in an enclosed trailer. Pulled the seat off and washed it clean. Borrowed a magic marker from the clubhouse. He signed that seat " To David Happy Landings. Evel Knievel. Still have the Banshee. All stock. Has not been ridden in almost 20 years. I should sell it. 62 years old now and my health is failing.

As a child at that time he was my idol. We used to build ramps to jump with our bikes

Pretty sure that's just for the audience. Most of these collectors are probably well informed but they go over some cool facts for the show instead of just having the text cards at the bottom. You're right about him being good at pretending to be surprised though.

The actual story.... Apparently.... Was that keneval was sharing a cell with someone called knoffel. In the morning when the sheriff came to take them to court he cracked "well look here! We've got Awful Knoffel and evil keneval" Being a religious man he changed the spelling to evel.

You know when someone just so happens to walk in with an Evel Knievel helmet and suddenly Rick is just spouting off one Evel fact after another, all with specific values in them. The kind of thing you just casually know off the top of your head

Why does everyone forget to mention Butte, Montana when they talk about Evel Knievel? We share a hometown so I don't understand why people never mention how cool it is to be from the Richest Hill on Earth and have the claim of being from the same town as the Greatest Daredevil On Earth.

Corey doesn't run the shop. Someone else runs and manages the actual shop. I think they have like 50 employees now? The cast of the show isn't even legally allowed to work behind the counter. They can work in the back though or hold management positions. But most them have other projects or businesses as well as filming Pawn Stars.

I have no doubt Corey is a part owner of the shop and listed as a manager but I also read there is another guy that actually manages the day to day business of it not related to the show.
