dactafi Holy Smokes! The Misinformation is REAL!!! IN your Post! The truth about Diamonds and Gem Stones is that they are from the poorest places of the Earth. The misconception comes from the fact that there are Corporations that reep all the benefits and glory while paying dirt to the people who actually go out on to their land to dig up the riches from the dirt they shit on.
If the diamond is cherished for its beauty, then the flawless cubic zirconia should suit fine.

The real value of a diamond should actually be far lower, the prices are kept artificially high by the industry, this is well documented. I will never buy any real diamond jewlery because it is an outright scam
@Criminalupper2200
4 жыл бұрын
@FullSend The difference is wheras the value of a card or other collectible is decided by the actual market forces, diamond's value is specifically and intentionally manipulated by the producers to forcibly raise it;s value far greater than it actually should be if it's true supply/demand ratio were taken into account. the market didn't decide what diamonds were worth, the producers did, and used decades of advertising campaigns and manipulated supply to get everyone else to buy into it.
@jjf3934

@@Criminalupper2200 same can be said abojt paper money it literally has zero true value the value is artificial. money used to be backed by gold now it’s not. No difference in diamonds. Only thing that will ever have a guaranteed value is precious metals. (Gold silver platinum etc)

Right on Cory! Love the show....So sad to hear your grandfather passed away though...Condolences.
I wish more people could understand how common diamonds are. Their main appeal is high index of refraction. You can make diamonds in specialized labs. You can't make gold in a lab. Even if you wanted to it would be so expensive that it wouldn't be worth it.
That was very informative Corey, sincerely, thank you.

The same can be said for lobster. It wasn't that long ago that it was food for poor people. It wasn't until rich people got a taste for the water spiders that lobster moved from the poor shool boy's lunch bag to the fine dining menus. Perceived value and demand/supply

XD ROTFLMAO Fantastic follow-up! However, what got me to sober up was thinking that something like this did actually occur.
Diamonds are purely for the curve appeal factor. They make you look rich and better than those without.
I like this video, but im would like to call in a buddy to examine it
I love this show
Staring at stones along time...i knew it!
Him and mr brown got along famously
I can already see this guy accidentally calling an actual flawless stone fake XD
Diamonds are only worth something because we believe they're worth something. They're worthless.
This is a great show. These guys are so knowledgeable about a lot of things. Very intresting to watch.

If you can't tell why not just buy the fake stone and save a ton of cash
I bought a ring from a pawn shop and after I took it to a jewelry store to see if it was real diomands and... it was! But low quality diamonds. It was a 10k ring for $400.
He always looks like you're wasting his time.
I love how they play the musik from "Hachiko" in the backround
Thanks claziranon !
One of the best ways to find a CZ is to find that "Brilliance" or Reflection of white light from the table or a facet. In real Diamonds that white light is actually a reflection of the outside world, if you focus on it, it's a PERFECT MIRROR. No matter how small a facet or big a table. In CZ that Reflection is always imperfect and warped and never a perfect Mirror. The Light Refraction also has a lot more Yellow and white in between the different colors in white light. So it has its own Pattern, while real Diamonds will always Refract in a pattern of colors that cycles through the color Spectrum in a linear fashion.
I wonder if Hoss and Chumlee have eating contests.

I'm no expert but the moment I saw those two diamonds I knew I was right about which was fake, and I was right XD
Yeah, I think its definetly a "I'm just too cool to even be wasting my time with other human beings" attitude ya know?
"It's like looking at Red and Blue" Yep. One is indeed real and one is fake.

dam corey came a long way man
I'm pretty sure the phrase is "intents and purposes" but, what do I know? I still have to resist the urge to wipe around a small hole in my back yard every day about a half hour after I eat breakfast.
It's the 4 C's. Color, cut, clarity, AND carat weight. Anyone buying (or selling) diamonds should know that.
Ha! No doubt!
A foolproof method of determining diamond authenticity is to: a) request "diamond" from seller for testing, b) place diamond on large anvil, c) smash "diamond" with a 5-pound sledge, and d) watch for customer's telling reaction.
Now, notch should a magnifier glass to Minecraft, so we could see if the diamonds are real.
you know it would suck if you had a flawless stone and someone said it was fake lol
That was informative , real diamonds have inclusions , well many know that , what about florescence ?
Thank you for this vedio. Question plz:: I have a 5.01ct stone diamond, VS 2, color J with a very good cut grade. How much would it be worth?? Thank you
Cory's at his peak here.
Not being happy I would think or at least not yet.
0:53 pause it he really looks like the old man..
Corey looks a lot better these days
I have an engagement ring that i found. in the sun it gets slightly light blue, but does cz or other gems do that it gets light blue in the sun because of the uv light from the sun, it also happens under a black light.
You should do the same thing but using a hairpiece. Use your Dad as the example and your head of hair as the opposing one. Then, you can go through the steps of identifying the hairline, coloration, coarseness and directions of the hairs and etc.
I love Chum lee off pawn stars i was babysitting for a friend and i was asked what was the babies name i was like omg i forgot to ask so i named him Chum lee.. What a doll.
COOL

There’s a certain fake diamond that beeps on the test
@margiemurdock6871
3 жыл бұрын
Yes, there is a test. Diamonds are the hardest mineral there is. You try to scratch it with the second hardest mineral, corundum (rubies and sapphires). A second test would be to see how well it conducts heat. Diamonds are as good as it gets. A third test would be the index of refraction; diamonds have a different index than cubic zirconia. X-ray crystallography could also be brought to bear. Those were just the first four non-destructive tests that came to mind (#5, what Archimedes discovered, do you know it?). Pawn Stars is just a TV show.
@death55546 sadly, this doesn't work, sometimes pressing f5 works, but i think you tube has disabled both.
Man he is huge in this video geez wtf do u eat to get that big!
I trust the Jabba the Hut dynasty and their Pawn Shop!
Blowtorch, ice melts, the real ice doesn’t
They also have diamond testers at jewelry and pawn shops that can tell.
You use a blacklight. Works.
Hey there slim
You can buy a little machine called Diamond Tester, beeps when it is a diamond. Easy
how to spot a fake show
4 Cs - cut, color, clarity, carat
I know a buddy of mine...
*FOUR c's, cut, colour, carrat and clarity.
Look at the stone true a clear light source, bare eye or magnified. Twist and turn, focus on the blue light "beam" The thinner it is, then more pure. In glass or zircona it will spred widely. Blue color spread more easly due to its low wavelengd and low frequence. Thats wy the sky is blue. And diamonds last forewer, since it dont brake easly due to its high carbon compact. I have teach some jewerly shop clerks in that basic.
I bet Corey has seen a bunch of "stones" in his life 😂
@geomodelrailroader they do that on the show but with gold
Corey,, you're a beautiful, smart individual..weight or no weight.
dude my moms old bf mom found a pure gold turtle with a bunch of diamonds all over it it wasnt extremely big maybe the size of a silver eagle but its cool
The massive one that looks like it’s made of glass is fake? Shocker that.
Am surprise that the rings fit his fingers
Wow 11 years agO
I also know how to spot walking mammoths!
Corey can tell the difference between a veggie burger and a regular burger...
@Akyuz1000 pretty sure CZs would mark the mirror too.
how much do they make a day?
“How to spot a fake Big Mac”
@slipknotowns34 FYI, diamond can shatter with the right amount of pressure. Please do not try smashing the stone into the ground. Do what he says, If you cant tell then bring it to someone who can.
0:06 to skip to talking part
@slipknotowns34 Just because diamonds are hard doesn't mean they aren't brittle... If you hit a diamond with a sledge hammer, it will shatter into grit. It's kind of like ceramic knives; you can cut stuff forever without having to sharpen them since they have a hardness of 9, unless you try to cut metal or bone at which point the knife will chip or shatter since they are brittle.
@ginalee77 they check the diamond right in front of you -_- in plain sight. and they are not allowed to take a customer's goods from his/her sight.
