Actually, the owner now has biometric forensic evidence that proves beyond any opinion that it is in fact Lincoln. In addition, the same expert turned down another million dollar photo the owner had submitted under a friend's name. All of Taylor's text and conclusions were saved. Then he had the same images authenticated by A world class forensic artist who is in the Guiness Book of World records for helping solve 1200 criminal abductions and murders. This same "clown" will be proving his case soon. You can't argue with forensic technology, but watch them squirm or not accept his challenge. What was also edited, was 100% to charity. This is how they get their ratings. A lot was not shown.

The moment Rick nodded his head in that negative manner, I knew the deal was already called off. Everyone has a right to disagree, but there's no need to make true authenticator's question their field of work. He also cut off Marie from finishing her sentence with that "They'll be coming to me in ten years, I'm the guy" response. The authenticator Marie, I felt her slight frustration when she was looking at Mark for that 3 seconds. If that's his best photo of Lincon and Mary, I question his entire collection.

I hope that guy doesn't fool and sell it to some serious collector with deep pockets and sell it for like a million or even 100 grand with that fake picture

@@ThatHungryAfricanChild It's really not. "A little snappy"? Some sellers on the show have been "a little snappy", or very short once they realize they don't agree with the expert. Maybe made one or two sassy comments. But this guy was condescending as all hell, literally degrading the woman to her face, saying she's incapable of doing her job, he's more of an expert than her - she'll be seeking HIS help in 10 years?? The fact that you think his behavior is remotely tolerable makes me wonder if you're the type of person to treat people the same way. That or you've never worked a customer service position and genuinely don't understand the scope of the issue. This dude is bottom of the barrel trash as customers go, they don't get much worse apart from shouting and threatening violence. I've worked at Walmart and have literally watched managers refuse to help people talking to the employees like that, basically telling them to kick rocks. If Walmart won't tolerate that level of disrespect, it's got no business in Rick's shop. But they just kind of let her take it, and at the end of the day it makes for exciting television. That seems to be what they got out of it.... There is literally no excuse for this type of behavior in any scenario. Anyone willing to be that disrespectful to another human being has no business even talking to me as far as I'm concerned.

Who is playing "President"? They were posing for probably the only photo in their life so of course they dressed up in their formal clothing which being from that era looks like what your average man & woman (inc. Lincoln & his wife) would wear.

So when we look at a photo we look at everything... Bum from the street I look at the clothes the background everything

Side note I will agree he is an expert I mean I'd call him if I wanted tips on embarrassing myself or probably how to beat my wife or how to sound smart while dressing in walmart hand me downs

I mean to start off, I know the show is fake, so it's hard to tell if this guy is putting on an act for the camera because they asked him to, or if he genuinely thinks he is an expert, but even Stevie Wonder can look at that and tell it wasn't Lincoln or his wife.

I've seen quite a few interviews and read a lot about the show. The skits where Rick and Chum are arguing and stuff like that are definitely partially scripted/produced but because the experts are legitimate, they can't be brining in paid actors for items or it would seriously hurt the experts' reputations and the pawn shops. Also, if someone buys based on a purchase made on the show and the purchases were fake, they could sue. The items and stuff brought in are real. The drama and such is partially scripted/produced.

@@notvolrach what? That the appraiser owns the item? I forgot exactly where I read that, but it’s definitely true. There have been guitars on the show that people bring in to sell, and then people see the same exact guitars in Jesse “the guitar expert) store. And think about it, where are normal people getting such extraordinary, historical items all the time? They always say they “got it at an estate sale”. Have you ever even been to an estate sale? It’s just a fact, it’s TV dude.
