He's full of shit. If it's true that Scott Williamson's ring went for $89K, he's a more known player. He was one of their best relief pitchers in 2004. This ring belonged to Brandon Puffer, who didn't even throw a single pitch in his 1 day with the Red Sox. Only reason he got a ring is because the owner decided to give a ring to every player who was on the roster at any point that season. Who would want to pay 89,000 for a ring with some no-name player on it? I'm curious as to why Puffer would give it away in the first place unless he felt like he didn't deserve it since he contributed nothing to the Red Sox championship run or he was trying to make bail money lol. If the ring belonged to....say...Pokey Reese, then I could see someone paying 89,000 for it. The Pawn Stars guys are crooks anyway and the show is fake.

The players rings were different than staff and management. Only players received the ring in "Jumbo" size. The other bunch of rings made for various staff and employees of the Red Sox were similar in look, but were not the same Jumbo size/weight as the players rings.

Puffer was summoned to the majors on Sept. 2. Puffer did not get in the game and was designated for assignment the next day because the Sox wanted outfielder Adam Hyzdu on the roster. Despite not actually playing in a game, Puffer was on the roster for a day and was given a ring. Yes, people, it DOES matter who's ring it is. Corey is correct. Puffer never played in a single game for the Red Sox. He was acquired in a trade, and the next day he was sent to me minors, never to return. And then he went to prison.

Are you kidding me? Do you realize how many die hard Red Sox fans would pay to have that? Sox nation isn’t just limited to the New England area, it’s a global fan base. To turn down the opportunity to buy one of only 51 player rings because of what some no name reliever did in his spare time is absolutely absurd. That’s like saying OJ Simpson’s bronco isn’t worth anything because he killed his wife (come on we all know he did it).... The asking price might be a little high in terms of reselling it but that’s a horrible business decision and yet another terrible excuse by the Pawn Stars of David not to buy something.

well, theres also that part, and the other MAJOR part that wasn't mentioned......brandon never actually played a single game or threw a single pitch for the red sox, and he wasn't in the world series, the team just decided to give everyone on the roster a ring because....when the fuck are they gonna win again? comeon, lmao yeah its a ring, but its a players ring that had zero to do with that win or any of the preclusion to getting to the world series, thats a pretty big thing in terms of the rings value. at least williamson played some games that season.
