This is new to me! Thank you for such a great video illustrating such a lovely, graceful, inspiring piece of art. This is a process that can truly nurture the spirit. Wonderful! You have opened a new door for me, and helped me see that I need not be perfect to do this.

You are quite welcome and thank YOU for taking the time to comment. Believe me, if I had to be perfect I would NEVER finish any art. I always remind my students that what they think are mistakes are really just their creativity trying to break through. Opportunities in disguise! Thank you for the comment! XOXO

The pose is so great! There is a guy in Denmark who make real size figures with it. He make the figures in wood and then dress them in clothes that have been painted with Paverpol.

Awhhhhhh...that is a very good observation. Yes, I agree...art speaks on it's own. I don't let my feelings get hurt very easily, but the one time that someone was rude to me on here, I was a bit amused and just had to respond. You are right. Nasty people do not deserve recognition. HUGS to you and thank you for being here.

Thank you for this video, Linda. How hard does Paverpol dry, please? I haven't used it yet. Are the fabric folds self-supporting once it is cured or do they collapse under hand pressure? Will the unsupported areas crack or break off? I have worked extensively in both clay and textiles and Paverpol is intriguing me. Thank you for your time, I hope you can tell me.

  • @StudioABSee

After about a day it is "leather hard" and you will think it is completely dry, but don't be disappointed. Just give it more time to dry. After a few days it is much harder and in a couple of weeks it is VERY hard. No collapsing under hand pressure at that stage. Once everything has dried overnight it holds its shape, and you "might" be able to shift it a little, but don't count on that. I have had no cracking or breaking even with transporting to and from art shows. I have used polyester and natural fabric blends with good results, but there was one piece of polyester fabric that was a disaster I think it is best to stick to mostly natural fabrics such as muslin, cotton blends, cheesecloth. My very favorite to work with is old worn cotton tee shirts! The more worn they are the softer the draping! I have not experimented with placing these outdoors, but I am told that once they are varnished that they will withstand outdoor environments of any weather. I'm new at Paverpol, so I haven't experimented with that yet. But I am having so much fun with this product. So many uses!!!! I have other videos on Paverpol. You might want to check out my Paverpol playlist. Hope this helps! I would love to see your work! Thank you Zena, for watching and for the interest! HUGS!

Thank you for all this, Linda. I used to work extensively in figurative, hand-built ceramics, treating the clay like fabric. I think Paverpol is going to be a complete, new excitement for me. I'm away at present, I'll upload a photo of what I do once I'm back at home on my main machine. Thank you again. Hugs to you, too.

If you had drilled a hole in your board and put the wire through the hole and used you staples on the other side you would have had a neater finish. I then always put felt on the underneath.

I'm interested to use paverpol to harden fabric. Do I have to have an armeture? Do I have to use foil? Will it make the fabric extremely stiff? Thanks for your time.

Hello T Mc! It might help to watch this playlist. kzread.info/head/PLIKUwqZzNezy8TxfVmy1AbiXcoKTEcCx4 Not knowing the project you are considering, makes it difficult to know if an armature is needed. The need for an armature depends on the project. I use foil because it is easy to manipulate and lightweight. Yes, the fabric becomes extremely stiff. I made an eagle, an experiment, and some goddess masks, and a Georgia O'Keefe inspired piece with no foil armature. The goddesses were made on a preformed mask. You will see all of these in the playlist above. Hope this helps. If you have more questions, I'd be more than happy to help you! Thanks for watching! XXOO
