I have heard him play this piece live. I could not believe my eyes and ears when he reached 4:19. It was a magical moment.
I heard this piece in Calgary, Alberta. Everyone was on the edge of their seats.
What an artist. That throat singing thrown in there was moving.
I saw Pavel play at Columbia College of the Arts Chicago in 2007 and in Cordoba, Spain in 2005. I still have one of his concert programs saved away and both concert programs call this song Homage a Jana Obrovska.
It is a blessing to have such a genius guitarist amongst us. I had some classes from Pavel (2002), but his talents are not transferable to others. This is his own “Limosna por el Amor de Dios”. Thank you Pavel.
Saw him live a week ago and he was phenomenal. He came back for an encore THREE times. Played this piece as well and it was enthralling.
This is just TOOOOO AWESOME!!! 😲😎🥳
Easily the best guitar performance i've seen in my life hands down.
I saw him perform this live ladt night. At first I was figures he must be ysing a looper. No. No looper. I was at an after concert gathering and spent over an hour listening to him talk guitar, guitat strings, guitarists, voice and shared stoies with Hack Silver of the Guitar Society of Toronto. It was quite the experence.
That's an incredible piece for the classical guitar. Pavel pulled all the stops!
That is just terrific - and what a lovely guitar! Thank you for not tuning during the performance. A number of players will do that during (and throughout) a piece and it becomes not only distracting but worrisome with many times making the problem even worse. This was so inventive and exciting, and the ending with coda was wonderful. Beautiful playing!
The myth that traditional guitars have a rather short life ,is knocked down by this 180 year old guitar.Pavel has metamorphosed her into a modern versatile musical cannon. Welldone!!!
the Great Pavel, love his creativity
eccezionale Pavel, stà come a eseguire una fantastica pittura che non vorrebbe finire mai.....complimenti
This man is my hero! Absolutely stunning piece of music this is. Inspiring 🙏🏼
Complete and total awesomeness! Pavel is one of the very best players I've ever seen live. I feel the experience was close a perfect concert experience. A true master of old and new repertoire. Thanks for posting this.
I had the amazing opportunity to listen to Pavel live. Possibly the best guitarist in the world??

Dear Mr. Pavel, i feel extremely lucky to have heard you live.( igft.gr/) I believe that it was an experience i will always reminsce about. This piece, in parallel with the innate technical difficulty, has a magic power to engender me a wonderful mix of feelings. Your music is outstanding and your playing brilliant. Thank you so much! And I hope i reach my destination, because I go to Ithaca too...
Extraordinario!!
Great!! that's rock!!!!!
Extraordinarily good.
Way too modest! I would never be able produce a fraction of the sound with the same instrument, let alone the emotion.
mazec!!
Super!!!!
Wow - astounding playing combined with some subtle overtone singing. Candyrat should sign Steidl if only to introduce his playing to a wider audience not acquainted with modern classical guitar.
Genious
Un maestro lo conocí en guitarras del mundo argentina
Looper pedals run away in fear...
wow :-)
Wonderful! And throat singing too?
Not even jimmy hendrix, this men is INCREDIBLE, in this or medieval music
C'est fou ce que Pavel arrive à faire avec une guitare XIXe siècle; on est pas mal loin de Segovia!
BEST
Is this on a recording!?
Lleva algo grabado?
Does anybody elae think this piece (the beginning) sounds like that Lou Reed song?
Was he doing Mongolian Throat singing? sure sounded like it

paco de lucia He actually can sing. I'm from the same country as him. When he was younger he played and singed with his brother( I think that his name is Josef) which plays the banjo.

Ohh it's called overtones.. The sound like song from tibet
Remember Are you going with me? (P.Meteheny composition)
