Paulie was a true soldier, he loved the idea of Tony being his commander, so much so that he made the painting of Tony repainted into a commander because thats what he truly felt he was. Not only that but this is the first time Paulie opens up and talks about his feelings with Tony. This scene just shows how much Paulie wanted someone to listen to his problems, just like Tony needed Melfi. In a strange way, Tony was the only person Paulie thought he could connect with, he could never say those things to a women because it didnt compute with him.

This had to be done in a couple takes. I don’t know how James didn’t burst out laughing at this.

This is one of my favorite scenes when Paulie is told to be positive and the first thing he says is “Oof, marone! He looks terrible!” Paulie was my dads favorite character

Rest in peace to both Tony’s. Two of the greatest.

The problem gets worse when Paulie talks about mob business. "I mean, do I blame myself for this life, the sh** that happens? Like with Puss. Stand-up one day - FBI ratf*** the next." (Great memory of killing Pussy B, no doubt.) Tony in the dreamstate yells, "Will you please shut up in there??" So funny!

i thought it was a comedy scene where the audience is supposed to laugh at how paulie annoys soprano even in his coma. Then it turned series and we snapped back to reality. Another reason the show was brilliant
