Superfine musician, cellist with a great touch, intelligent and original arranger. He has been devoted himself to revisit with chamber sound and refined some of the most famous pages of historical authors of samba in Brazil since many years. This tour he plays with the voice of Paula Morelenbaum , wife of the leader, a singer with a perfect intonation. Paula is now one of the most successful singers in Brazil; in solo career she has continued to explore the music of Jobim but also that of Vinicius de Moraes, and the repertoire of Brazilian song of the forties and fifties. The Morelenbaum, plus Jobim , have collaborated with the biggest names in Brazilian popular music: Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Chico Buarque, Gal Costa, Maria Bethania, Milton Nascimento and have a very special musical relationship with Ryuichi Sakamoto .

In questo tour trova la voce di Paula Morelenbaum, moglie del leader, cantante dall’intonazione perfetta. Paula è oggi una delle cantanti brasiliane più affermate; nella carriera da solista ha continuato a esplorare la musica di Jobim ma anche quella di Vinícius de Moraes, nonché il repertorio della canzone brasiliana degli anni Quaranta e Cinquanta. I Morelenbaum, oltre a Jobim, hanno collaborato con le più grandi firme della musica popolare brasiliana:, Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Chico Buarque, Gal Costa, Maria Bethania, Milton Nascimento e vantano un rapporto musicale molto speciale con Ryuichi Sakamoto.

Great video and great singer. I have heard Ms Morelenbaum on KZread in various contexts, f.i. with the WDR bigband and their Bossarenova project and with Tom Jobim in the 1980s. It's nice to watch and hear all these tunes in this rather intimate setting of excellent musicians.
