Please note, she did this after 9 surgeries on her back because of a plane crash that took her nearly 6 years to recover from. She is an amazing fighter because when you hear this story to how she came back with this song, it is just amazing. This choreography is so intricate, it's almost as if you have to watch it multiple times to focus on one dancer at a time. Beautiful.

So here's the thing about Paula Abdul. She had a #1 hit with "Straight Up". Then she followed that up with a #1 hit with "Forever Your Girl". Then, just for shits and giggles, she had a #1 hit with "Cold Hearted". She took a temporary break from the top of the chart with "(It's Just) The Way That You Love Me", which peaked at #3, but then she came back with "Opposites Attract", "Rush, Rush", and "The Promise Of A New Day", all of which ALSO were #1 hits. Michael Jackson & Katy Perry had five #1 hits from one album ("Bad" & "Teenage Dream" respectively), but Paula Abdul is one of only six artists who have had four #1 hits from one album (the others were Whitney Houston with "Whitney", George Michael with "Faith, Janet Jackson with "Rhythm Nation 1814", Mariah Carey with "Mariah Carey" and Usher with "Confessions", which is pretty damn impressive company). And that's just some of her accomplishments as a singer. As a dancer and choreographer, she blew the '80s/'90s away.

She still has it. I have no idea why she did not make a full album. This song proved she still had the chops. Good song.

After I saw this air for the first time on Idol 6 years ago, every day after school I would come home and play this on my computer and learn the dance. To this day I can remember small parts. This was Idol.

I'm getting old ...as an OG Paula Abdul fan dating back to the 80s, when she put this one out I was so happy to see new music from her! This song was out back when I worked as a radio personality and it was one of the most requested songs on the station. Every time someone would request it, I'd pretty much jump for joy lol. Hard to believe I was in my mid-20s then.

Listened today because I randomly remembered funny seeing as its been nearly 10 years since release june 8 today and i was absolutely obsessed with paula at this point and listened to all her stuff and lost my mind when she released this i jammed so hard remembering all the words to a song I probably havent listened to in years just reminds me of happy times! So thanks Paula!
