Join Paul Wallace of Supercars of London in Andalusia as he test-drives the new Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupé that combines SUV and plug-in hybrid. Let’s put its electric range of 100 km to the test. With its reimagined rear end, the GLE Coupé always looks ready to pounce. It combines visual strength and elegance without compromising interior space or aerodynamics. Fulfilling the promise of its appearance, the car offers a sporty driving experience - you will see once EQ Boost is activated! And inside, the revolutionary infotainment system MBUX offers a number of helpful features. Without question this adventure will go down as one of my favourite! A real pleasure to explore the new GLE Coupe and all of it’s technology. The roads weren’t bad either!!

Interesting. Just the other day I heard a colleague co-worker comment that there will definitely be a market for plug-in hybrids for a while, since many people are still concerned about the limited range of EVs (battery capacity/size limitation), along with the slow proliferation of charging stations, fast-charging technology, etc. The total transition to a complete EV fleet might take decades, and in the meantime the plug-in hybrids seem to be the most reasonable option/deal, I guess.

I just love everything about the new GlE coupe. Excellent technology and I love the shark nose looking head lights and the triangular looking tale lights, they are just superbly gorgeous!!!!!

A really interesting video, it flowed well and Paul did a great job presenting too I thought. The technology just keeps getting better and better, where will it end. "Hey mercedes, what is the weather like in London today?" "Today it will be partly cloudy...." no change there then lol. Airmatic suspension is pretty cool :) Over 100kms in electric mode; a great step forward

If anyone looking to get his now in the UK, bare in mind it will no longer come with burmester sound, charging pad, energetic pack, and the air balance pack. Could be other omissions, not sure

What happens in winter if I have driven, let’s say 50km on electric and suddenly I need full power and it’s -30 degrees outside? Does the engine kick in at full power when it’s cold?

It's what the most car companies missing. At present, we need PHEV hybrid cars with better electric only range. Pure electric or fossil fueled ones are not a good idea.

Great car but i worry about future reliability. German cars aren’t known as being cheap or easy to repair from my car experience.
