Sometimes I feel like my passion is gone and the joy of life has left me. Then I play this song and weap. I weap because I'm reminded of dancing as a teen loving the bliss of discovery. I remember seeing PVD finally in 2020 and dancing to this song decades later, like I was 17 again. Tears streaming down my face because the passion is still there and I still love myself. What an amazing song. A song that's helped make me, sustain me, and save me. Thank you Paul Van Dyk.

PVD Hurricane Katrina relief warehouse party Houston 2005 was my 1st ever gig to attend. Probably 1k shows under my belt. That one was wild. Edit: I was terrified to go. But an IT guy at my hospital was hacking into my terminal. Saying I was cute. I got up and sprinted. He was hiding around the corner with his computer. Ok I was impressed. Later, he hacked into the hospital mainframe from my apt which was pretty impressive. So I went to the show.

back to 97...was the first time a heard this song....love it foerever!!!!!

This track is why Paul van Dyk is hands down my favorite DJ. It's my favorite track across all genres. That breathing in the beginning, those few simple notes, the strings in the background and the bass that reminds me of a heartbeat when it drops in. Makes me smile every time. And makes me excited for the next album! This track he did play once and it was literally the best five or so minutes I've ever had at a party. Close second: When he played Beachball @ Governor's Islands in NYC!

I first heard this back in the days of yore when I was living in Seoul, South Korea, and all the way from Ireland (I live in Spain now). Trance is making somewhat of a comeback (here anyway). Had to dig this out. Best PVD track (better than FAA). Best Trance track ever. A true classic. Simple, melodic, hopeful, happy, tinged with sadness, perfect. So many memories. So much love. Thanks Paul :)

This is the track I was listening to like 1000 times, friend of mine brought a true vinyl from UK to cold post-USSR Russia, and that was the day I fell in love with electronica (the mother of trance/uplifto).

Why does the "Forbidden Fruit" taste so much better?

I came into the electronica scene about 5 years ago and I have never heard anything not even from the old tiesto albums that even compares to what I can feel from this song. Also I heard some new beats that touched my ears that I never heard before.

I could be wrong about PVD, but back in the day, dj's used engineers to make most of their tracks. A lot of the big names did this. Then they either changed engineers or tried to make stuff themselves, which is why a lot of quality changes.. Timo Mass - Umek was done by an engineer, using "an idea" of Timo's..

0:00-0:07 this part is telling us how we are ganna feel when we get done with listening to it..

Paul das ist dein bester Track. Heute kann und möchte ich dich nicht mehr hören. Bitte gesinne dich zu deinen Wurzeln zurück. Du warst mal so gut. Heute produzierst du nur noch diesen Einheitsbrei. Echt schade. Ich kenne deine Musik seit 1994, du hast mich geprägt und zur fortgeschrittenden elektronischen Tanzmusik gebracht. In der Gesamtschule habe ich sogar mal einen Vortrag über dich gehalten und habe eine "Eins" bekommen ;) Damals habe ich jeden Soundgarden auf Tape genommen. Erfolg macht wohl gierig und beeinflusst deine Fähigkeiten wirklich geniale Meistwerke zu erschaffen. Dennoch danke ich dir für diese Zeit. Mit den besten Grüßen.

@Chilibe Yeah. It should be out later this year and I believe it's called Evolution. He played a few tracks from it, including a couple of really good vocal ones, at the aforementioned show and they were classic PvD.

Agree bro, i was expecting the bomb album after out there and back evryone was expecting him to produce something really hard and dark like his berlin sets at that time, then he started coming with all this vocal stuff it was awful, it was still well produced but lost the underground edge, mostly it was all geared for american crowds, he made alot of money but europe was a better style.

You do realize this artist fell through a stage and is still paralyzed to some extent. This DJ was a political activist for the local range he had. 2023 he is kind of of still mending. He is a Master!
