Growing up my dad was an alcoholic and a drug addict. My mom told me I'd be down the hallway and he'd be in the closet doing meth.. My mom finally had enough after he started getting aggresive and divorced him. He went to rehab and finally stopped drugs, but not drinking. He'd still drink.. A lot. To the point where it was threatening his health. Not too long ago, he was actually rushed to the hospital because of his liver. His liver was failing and the doctor told me he wasn't going to make it. Surprisingly he actually made after staying in the hospital for at least a month. During that month the only thing that relieved my pain was singing. Just like this man. My dad is out now, and hasn't took a sip of anything alcoholic in at least 1 year. I can relate to this so much.

i'm a recovering addict. if it wasn't for my kids... this guy has no idea how proud his father is of him.

God he has this raw talent that I love. His voice is so raw and it suits him and it flatters the guitar so well... Man this almost brought me to tears. I would pay to see him in concert. As he is now

He has special gifts and talents which is singing and writing songs. Music is a very important thing that can change your life from a dark tunnel and brings you out into the light. i understand what you went through. My father is an alcoholic so I know what its like to have to feel like the adult at a young age. The fact that you fought through it and do that it is amazing. You put your pain to good use. Thank you for sharing this song and your story it gives me hope that even though my father may not be the best now he might change in the future and show me that he deserves a second chance and that he can change.

Such a polite and humble young man. I'm happy his father turned his life around. I know the story of addiction all to well. It's sad that he thinks he owes his father something for becoming sober.
