I remember watching this "live" when I was a young guy. He sold it so well, I actually wondered if he was acting or not. Watching it now, I'm just laughing my ass off.

Gene Burnett I remember watching this with my mother back when it was live. I didn’t realize if he was serious or joking. I was 10 years old and didn’t understand tongue in cheek type.

I would've been 7. If I was watching, I don't remember, but I love the fact that this happened. Late night television was so wild and fun -- even into the 90s before it went sour.

I recall that the first couple of years of SNL they would provide an address that you could mail your request for tickets. My friends and I always talked about going to NYC to see the show, but we never did.
Paul Simon is adorable.

What a legend. A musical icon with a sense of humor.
Paul Simon actually has a great sense of humor - even to this day. I was fortunate enough to see him in Tampa during his Farewell Concert - loved every minute of it.

THANK YOU for the first 5 seasons on DVD box sets. Bought them when they came out . HAPPY THANKSGIVING FOLKS !!!
SNL was a get together & watch it show before we went out.It was attitude adjustment hour. Beers & giggle sticks. This was a memorable SNL night because seeing Paul Simon in a turkey outfit was so so jaw dropping hilarious. I'm happy to see it again so I can hear all of what he is saying. Back then we were doubled up, tears on our face, can't catch our breath laughing. Thank you SNL for the happy times.
"Still crazy after all this years...". What a song.
Watching again in 2024 --- truly, still funny, after all these years......... Thanks, Paul!
Paul Simon's a good actor. He could have done that instead, if he wanted to.
god he made it so believable and now I’m sad
thank you for putting this up finally. HIGH-LARIOUS
The contrast between the turkey suit and that sweet, sweet voice… Comedy gold.
Hey look Paul Simon's a damn turkey
A beautiful memory Happy Thanksgiving to everybody
Watching in 2020. Still funny after all these years.

Paul is the ultimate . The summit. The best all around. The funniest skit ever❤️💐Such a good sport!
I remember watching this-Absolutely hysterical!
Still brings tears of laughter to my eyes! A holiday tradition for me now.
An absolute classic ! It doesn't get much better than this.
This was during the time, where Lorne discusses with George Harrison about his $3,000 offer to the Beatles, for a Reunion on the show, that never came to fruition. That came just before this moment.

When I first heard about this sketch, It was from an article that said “interview with Paul Simon”. In that article was a transcript of the sketch, And I’m sitting there reading “do you want to be Mr. alienation, you can be Mr. alienation but I feel this is been a total disaster…”. And I thought to myself, “Paul Simon is a jerk. He can’t take a joke!” Then I saw the actual sketching realize they were just quoting the sketch and I laughed to myself.
Best SNL moment ever! Still funny! Back when you could watch TV!
What a legend
At the end art garfunkel shud have come along and offered to wear the outfit if they bumped paul off the show
