Thankyou for yet another helpful video. Its only 12 months since I started painting at age 79 years old. It took me all these years to work up the courage helped by your advice. I finally took the plunge to help one of my grandaughters who was suffering from a very long and severe (over 6 months) case of long Covid. She had become so depressed. But with your videos we started painting together and it made a big difference to her outlook. So thanks once again.👍

Oh thank you Nancy, that's very kind!
I loved your answer about your favorite part of teaching painting. I am a retired 3rd grade teacher & my favorite part of teaching was also that squeal of delight & joy when they realized that they actually got the concept I was teaching them. What a joy it was to hear their little voices rise & to see those sweet smiles. I miss it.

Thanks again. I very much remember your last one where you said that you started with 3 colors and advised us to do the same. Best advice ever. The night takeaway from, today’s is to start every painting as though it’s a practice, and to paint the painting as a whole. Thanks again

One of your viewers asked about drawing an object. I used to try drawing on the decent water colouring paper and spoiled many times with erasing. Now I practise any drawing several times on drawing paper. Surprising how much decent watercolour paper you save as well as practising your drawing.

Marvellous! Wow , your earlier works are impressive. This was such a worthwhile video. Nice little reminders too. I appreciate your comments on pricing our work. I often find this difficult and especially if I have a painting I feel good about. I was once told to charge two and half times the framing price. Only as a guide. Love this. Thanks Paul.

I've been following you since I started this new hobby of watercolor painting. It's not quite a year yet, but I've learned so much from you. I tend to paint more detailed but when I need to loosen up... I visit Paul from across the pond. 😊 I have actually been commissioned 4 times now. Some of my favorited paintings had been inspired by some of yours such as the fox and robin, the old rusty car and the tractor scene as well. ❤Thank you so much for sharing your gift with us all !❤ Theresa from Ohio.

Blimey! You should paint fish more often. As a keen pike fisherman, I feel that the classic 'pike lurking among the weeds' would make an intriguing subject. Whilst the scene is possibly a bit hackneyed, the play of dappled greenish light might be interesting to evoke.

Dankjewel! Prachtig!

A very helpful video and I’ll have a go at the fish. I have watched all the Q & A tutorials but I don’t think I’ve seen any or many tips on trouble shooting, trying to put right areas when things go wrong. I follow the tutorials, hanging on your every word as I try to copy instruction. I always think I’ll make it my own but sometimes that’s difficult to do, must be my lack of natural creativity. So when my paint won’t do what I expect it to, I want to correct it but don’t know how.

Hi Paul! Thank you for your lovely channel. I have a suggestion for your next Q&A. Perhaps a segment on techniques for how to fix mistakes. For example, is there a right/wrong way to lift paint (when trying to fix a mistake as opposed to creating a highlight) and then painting over top?

Interesting and helpful and helpful comments. I guess most, if not all here are lucky as we're painting as a hobby and not under pressure to create art work for the Acme Widget Company's latest advertising campaign. Best thought is to keep it fun and not to worry about creating masterpieces,
