Really, in some way or the other, they all loved each other. Hate is not the opposite of love. Indifference is.

After watching Get Back its absolutely clear they loved each other deeply. You can see nothing but love and joy when they look at each other while playing music together.

Paul’s sincerity and sensitivity really compliments his musical genius. So glad I was around to enjoy his music during his lifetime.

It's funny you should say this, because the guitar player in the band I'm in is a LOT different than i am until we start playing music together, which is when it's clear we have the soul connection you speak of. Great interview, take care.

I am 63 as well, saw them on Ed Sullivan, as my dad was a huge music fan & needed to know what all the fuss was about- I was struck with the fever or Beatlemania , he wasn’t but enjoyed a great many songs. They as the Beatles & separately have been a major part of the sound track of my life & I am so grateful. I hope Paul & Ringo live well into their 90’s or 100’s (now a days not a weird idea). And I mean well, they both seem very very healthy.

Then don't watch the American interviews from '64 and '65.Theyll drive ya bloody nuts!!!The interviewers were terrible,most of them.Larry Kane was pretty good.Asked more thought provokers to the group.The Australian interviewers are really good.Theres one with John alone from '64.The interviewer asked intelligent ones to John.

Paul-he knew and loved you,too. Brothers fight like hell but always are brothers.

As if i needed another reason to love Paul McCartney

While I certainly feel extremely unlucky to be born after legends like The Beatles, David Bowie, Queen and Michael Jackson were at the height of their careers, to be born after two of the Beatles had already passed away ( I am 19 ), I still find a little comfort knowing that we still have the remaining two and that the internet has enabled us all to revisit historic moments despite not being there to witness them when they first occurred. May the remaining icons live a hundred years and the late ones find peace.

With the technological advancements of the present and the future, I am quite sure this work too would go on for a very long time and the coming generations would be encouraged by their elders to keep it alive.

John and Paul. Nobody can never, ever compare!! I remember as an 8 yrs. Old. I was going through my moms 45's collection. Saw a little 45 record with a swann label on it. A side was, " She Loves You" B side was " Ill get you" i played and played that record over and over again. I remembered it had " Lennon and McCartney on it. Just something about it, i knew was something special. Just saying, i never forgot that in time.

Their rivalry with one another and pride are what pushed the both of them to make revolutionary music. Paul shouldn't feel regretful, because deep down, John knows that he does indeed love him.

And I can honestly say I love Paul even though I don't know him - his music means as much to my life as anything

Start naming all of the geniuses throughout the history books in the world, that you can think of. There's a high predominance, and a known fact, that those which you will name, are known to be born as left-handed individuals. Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven, usually considered the three greatest musical geniuses in history are all left-handed. And in the modern world most would think of genius guitar players as Paul McCartney and Jimi Hendrix, as both are seen playing left-handed. John obviously had a rough background and he carried alot of pain inside him from his childhood. I think that´s why he was a bit rough sometimes, but it´s also what made his songwriting so raw and profound. John and Paul had a friendship bond with each other that they didn´t have with anyone else, but people like to focus on their conflict. But if my mind, that´s just brothers who expect alot from each other and sometimes get extremely disappointed in the other and lash out. It´s not a big deal. When it comes down to it, they loved each other more than they loved the people they never fought with.

People always talk about universe shattering love stories in a romantic way, but Lennon-McCartney was undoubtedly one of the greatest love stories of all time. Imagine all the love that came out of that once in a lifetime bond, the generations of music it inspired that define our youths, the soundtracks of our first romances, our greatest heartbreaks, our first failures, our most precious memories of loved ones, our parents' favourite song they fell in love to, the songs they played to their children, the ones our grandparents listened with us on our front porch. The greatest gift of the Beatles wasn't just their songs, it was the love they give to us to keep forever.

Cherish EVERY day this man is on Earth...and then some.

Oh Paul,he was one of those special friends ! He new that your relationship was based on love! Hopefully you will all be together again !

The Disney+ compellation of the Rooftop concert in London, January 1969, shows that they are true friends, and have the greatest respect for every member in the band and entourage.

I use to go the cavern when I was 17..1962..I remember the beatles 🎶 they were far the beat group around at the time. They were playing live.. they were brilliant on the guitars. The drummer was good. They never sold alcohol in the cavern. You at to get a pass out and go to a pub in the same street. Good memories. Why they was so good they wrote their own 🎵.. I went to see them on the empire in lime Street. Liverpool.

Geraldine… I was at the Spectrum in Philadelphia… had just seen Bruce Springsteen..& the E Street Band… it went from a great mood… to a tragic numbing dream… trying to comprehend… WHY…? It still makes no sense… too young… just heartbreaking 💔.

Paul is arguably THE musical genius of the last 60 or so years, and The Beatles united him with others of his caliber. I think he realizes how important he is, and they are, yet he's still remarkably down to earth.

@Proper nah Man, Lennon is every bit as much if not more genius than Paul. But I think they’re only at the top Together. As great as the were after the Beatles specially John, they’re not up there with Dylan as solo acts let’s be real, only together and that means with George, Ringo and George Martin as well. And no, McCartney could never write a song like “Strawberry Fields Forever”, let’s make that clear. Nor “Tomorrow Never Knows”, “Across the Universe” or “I am the Walrus” to name a few

This is a really interesting interview at least the 4 minutes that I got to see of it and hearing him say that he loved John it made me get tears in my eyes. 😢 Paul McCartney, as was John Lennon both were such a class act.❤️

I love Paul McCartney, he's an amazing person and I cannot imagine if I ever met him... The amount of questions I would've have for him.

Nice to see Paul in full flow. The best interviewers imo are the ones who know their subject without referring to a big book of notes, quite disrespectful really especially considering the status of this man.

Amazing to think this unassuming guy is a musical genius that has been putting out songs for sixty years.

William's real career started late 1966 when he replaced JPM "as an already set up affair".

To our generation, this would be like sitting down with any songwriter from the past, ( Cole Porter, Harole Arlen, George Gershwin, etc., ) and getting the straight story on creating music. And Paul's love for John is evident in his song, " Here Today. "

Even if it's just a fraction of a scene, I'd like to read the play they tried to write together.

Yes! I was thinking the same. What's the play they were writing about? Was it a comedy, a drama, what. John had a flair for writing, having authored two books of Joycean poetry and abstractions. Apparently, Paul excelled in creative writing at school. Both possessing fanciful imaginations, along with keen observational skills. And, we know what successful lyric writers they became, esp John. I'd love to check this out. Even if it's just a crude outline. I wish I could've heard Paul elaborate more.

I, for one would like to have Paul confirm or deny that the last time Paul spoke to John on the phone, John said, "think of me now and then my old friend" and that Carl Perkins song with a lyric that said that was written before Carl knew the story. It's a well known anecdote but it may be just wishful thinking on the fans part.

Why do they insist on asking the same questions over and over, if I had one question to ask Paul it would be, "did you ever record yourself chewing down on a piece of celery on the beach boys song vegetables" I mean come on, that myth is still a myth

I agree. Paul's always interesting to listen to because of his personality and who he is, but there are tons of questions that are never asked. The question about dreaming a song is way over asked. I mean, I think everybody in these comments knows about Yesterday and Let it Be.

Alex, I can confirm that myth is actually true. He was visiting his great friend Brian Wilson, and as he told it, there was a lot of substances around at that time lol. He is on it, although he has little recollection of the recording. 😀

You know you're big when you have an "archive". You know you're HUGE when your archive has stuff in it you didn't even know you had!

I'm sure it didn't need to be said, it was a telepathy they shared of their admiration and love for one another

Listen to his "Here Today".I knew it was something special and should be forever singled out as Paul's greatest testament to his devotion to John as his kindred spirit and friend.Tears me up-it did the same for Paul,the first few times he started including it in concert set lists.

There's A song called life is the blues. She passed. Before he ever told her . " He never said I love you. I want you to stay. He would give his soul to relive that day.

In a Zoom pod cast a few weeks ago he talked about that. He said that due to the pandemic he’s at home for longer periods of time and he’ll let it grow for a couple of weeks and then shave it off. He said he’s been doing that since the pandemic/ lockdowns began.

Just finished episode 1 of Get Back.. Paul was a very hardworking man.

You both know you did that's the important thing! Guys are more emotionally crippled but it's getting better all the time

Paul & John changed the world

It's funny how one-hit wonders can go on the media and regale us with stories of their career; usually one or two anecdotes that they tell over and over again and eventually bore everybody with. With the Beatles, their story is so phenomenal, McCartney could spend days recounting stories of the band, and never repeat himself. Their story is absolutely unbelievable. The Beatles are not just a once-in a lifetime phenomenon; they're a once, only, EVER phenomenon. There will never be anything that comes anywhere near to the Beatles. That ship has sailed. I'm so glad that I was on the planet at the same time as the Beatles. McCartney's talent appears to be beyond human capacity. Peak musical genius has already been reached. It's all downhill from here, unfortunately.

Paul and John had a great relationship. However John and William could not stand each other.

My impression of The Beatles 'Get Back' documentary series directed and produced by Peter Jackson,...it reveals one of the Beatles best kept secrets. The song 'Maybe I'm Amazed,'....recorded entirely at Abbey Road in 1969, during the breakup of the Beatles,...is about Paul's love for John Lennon,...not as everyone assumed, about Linda. IMO, 'Maybe I'm Amazed' was disguised,...somewhat like 'Hey Jude,' which was really about Jules. The heart of 'Maybe I'm Amazed' was John Lennon.

Okay now I know John and Paul hardly ever admitted that they wrote songs for each other but if you think that Maybe I’m Amazed is for John then you’re crazy. It’s for Linda.

His dad was playing Mitch Miller songs, When the Red Red Robin Comes Bob Bob Bobbing Along. I loved those songs when I was little. Mitch Miller had a show on TV.

Paul is my favorite musician ever!!!

this interview reminds me of the phrase "do you really understand that you love someone, only when you have lost them" And repentance begins, about never having said a simple "I love you" to him

I love getting to watch Paul talk about his life and his music. I don't know if anyone aside from Michael Jackson could ever fully comprehend or come close to the worldwide cultural impact the Beatles had, and had to live through. It's fascinating to me.

Billy still slips occasionally. Beginning at 2:57 …. The archive department had things of his he didn’t even know. Which were “fascinating”. Then says... “And it came up in a conversation as I was saying to Paul”. Huh?

(I wish that I could remember the Show!)
