Paul recently had the distinction of being decorated with the prestigious French Legion of Honour in Paris. President Hollande conducted the ceremony commenting that Paul had, 'Changed the world and therefore France'.
The Légion d'honneur is awarded to foreign nationals only under extraordinary circumstances and Paul joins Queen Elizabeth II, actor Laurence Olivier, author Graham Greene and war veteran Henry Allingham in receiving the award.

In the name of French people, I thank you ! But you could never be as thankful as we are to the Brits for bringing up Paul ! That day I have been waiting for hours in front of the Elysées to catch a glimpse of Paul proudly showing us his medal from the window of his car, as it was leaving... Great great memory, and at that moment, I thought very much of every beatlemaniac (or Paulmaniac) on Earth !

Les Shadows ont changé ma vie en 1960 et les Beatles ont bâti mon avenir musical en 1964. Nulle part ailleurs je n'ai retrouvé autant de recherche, de création, d'univers musicaux différents,d'inventions. La Beatlemania n'a jamais été égalée. Paul mérite vraiment sa décoration.

La Légion d'honneur est la plus haute distinction française. Elle récompense les mérites éminents rendus à la Nation….Il a fait quoi PMC comme service éminents pour la France ? ….John doit se marrer là haut !!! Christian, chevalier de l'ordre national du Mérite ( la bleue)
