Paul McCartney and Ronnie on Little Richard and Chuck Berry

Музыка

Paul McCartney chats about how he first met Ronnie Wood, and they talk about Little Richard and Chuck Berry's influence on their music. Paul didn't know the history of the blues, so for him Little Richard was the first guy he heard who sang like that!
This clip is taken from The Ronnie Wood Show, an award-winning TV series first broadcast on Sky Arts. Every episode features top artists joining Ronnie for impromptu jamming, lively chat and reminiscing about the wild days of rock'n'roll.

@@JohnWilson-qy8en Richard was the King AND architect and was robbed of those credits as so typical in this hateful country. It's ALWAYS the British rock musicians who credit Black musicians as having influenced them. The Stones and the Beatles LOVED Little Richard, Chuck Berry and many of the other Black musicians back then and don't hesitate in giving them respect and credit. The whole idea of Elvis was to steal and discredit any and all Black influences and crown him 'King' and you all are still up to that bullshit crowning Eminem 'King' of Rap. Generations of stealing, lying and appropriating the cultures of others. FOH with that bullshit....

You can ALWAYS depend on the British musicians to give respect, honour and credit to (particularly) Black American musicians who influenced them. The Stones, Beatles and Clapton LOVED many of those Black American musicians and REGULARLY will mention that fact paying respect to them. They're honourable, and I respect THEM for their fairness and utter willingness to tell the TRUTH.

@@dailyflash Albeit I like Led Zeppelin, I'm not familiar with their history as in who influenced them, so I'm totally unaware but then again, didn't they steal the beginning of 'Stairway to Heaven' from another artist that they went to court over? So I guess we shouldn't expect thieves to be honest and forthcoming... Thanks for the information.

  • @bhigdaddymark

@c f He never said who Led Zeppelin didn't give credit to or potentially stole from, so that might be a false claim against them. Before writing them off, I'd rather have proof with FACTS. The lawsuit or court case against them was in the news as I remembered that and how they won bewildered me as it was so obvious that they DID rip-off the opening of 'Stairway To Heaven' from someone else. There must've been a jury of tone deaf non musicians as I was floored that they couldn't hear what was clearly obvious and that's a shame. As far as anything else is concerned with them, I'm unaware of.

@Jimmy Jams Your parents KNEW great music and I highly doubt that White parents in the UK 🇬🇧 restricted their children from listening to particular artists solely based on race as was the case in the United States. Yes, there were probably a few, but certainly not like the numbers here where the hatred and vitriol is massive and that's why I said what I said because those young people in England grew up to be the very musicians that I'm talking about: McCartney, Lennon, Jagger, Clapton and so many more. I salute them all and your parents, all honourable people indeed.

The only way that some of Little Richard's music got recognition was when WHITE artists like Pat Boone covered his songs. Do some research and discover the TRUTH. And the big mystery is - why hasn't there been a reunion with Paul and Little Richard? Google 'Paul McCartney duets' and you will find a long list of well known singers (Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Tony Bennett,etc..) who did duets with Macca. Little Richard is conspicuously absent. Maybe there is no public interest in seeing Macca and Richard together, singing "Long Tall Sally" ? After 50 years of Little Richard being referenced as a major influence? . Hmm.. Have they ever shared the stage in the last 50 years?

I suppose Ronnie Wood has to lie in this video to the public saying when he first met Paul, That's BS!! Ronnie Wood knew the real Paul and knows about the PID, along with the WHO, which lyrics in one of their song say " So we don't get fooled again" What do you think Roger Daltry was singing about. The Animals wrote "House of the rising sun" Eric Burden was referring to Billy Shears Campbell rising up taking over Paul's life. Though either of these musicians or any musicians will come forward. RIP: John Winston Lennon, James Paul McCartney and George Harrison.
