I was searching for a performance of this that came close to the interpretation I think the piece demands, especially that second movement! So many emotions to convey. Yes! Thank you for this performance.

As an undergrad, I remember accompanying this in several students' lessons.

Excellent playing, Ulla! I remember also having played Hindemith's flute sonata when I was a student at the Music Conservatory in Denmark. But I never really liked this sonata, and I still don't. The flute part is great, but the piano part is mostly rubbish. Only in the third movement does Hindemith finally get his act together and displays genuine inspiration.
