"Scarified" is such a sick fucking song. If I had half this man's talent I wouldn't have to work anymore.
Damn I love how much control he has over the dynamics. Why can't I do that? :(
how paul reacts to stuart at first is sweet >.<
That vowel legato thing was brilliant.
I can't talk when I tune my electric guitar, but Paul Gilbert can. He he he he.
weird joke from the british dude at the beginning XD paulsjust like... what
legend!
hahah that Joke the bald dude says at the beginning... PG is like WTF.... crazy little british man.
The song with the human capo (if that's how its spelled) is "Here comes the Sun" by The Beatles
The transcribed audio is just... lol
@dogfalcon it is an important part of the tone, weather you're a mediocre or great guitar player it still colours the sound of what you deliver (that's why for ex. when you listen to a brit style amp, no matter how you scoop it it's still distinctive). but then again, that's why it's so difficult to emulate a sound (even such basic sounding guitarists like slash) is that they still print something unique on the sound that no one can completely copy.
@tanujgaurav he suffers from tinnitus from playing very loudly, and wants to protect his hearing, plus its a great way to hear back everything thats playing
"this is the most important lick, the reason why it is so important is ..." *end of the video* XD
@tanujgaurav cause in ear monitor can break your ears. he uses headphones when he sings. its the most accurate way of listening yourself in a live situation.
the picking from 7:40 onwards sorta sounds like the intro from the speed racer theme
i deliberately searched for this video remembered how awkward it was to watch years ago. good god that first bit is embarrassing.
god
@Thirdgen83 Yngwie has of late gotten repetitive sure, but don't forget how big of an influence he was on Paul. Back in the 80's, Yngwie was dynamite.
PAUL is like..ok, you tried your best with that silly joke..now, shut up
@NeoShredder94 It's true. Yngwie is good, but he plays the SAME thing on EVERY album. Paul plays all sorts of different things. He's not stuck on one thing...
Does anyone know what song he is playing at the beginning?
@bicmed88 he has to be a good listener because he's almost deaf in the 4000hz range :)
It's called room tone people, record it when you're recording dialogue, so you can invert the wave and clean it up later! Otherwise your stuff sounds like noisy trash like this interview!
racer x scarified
why does paul gilbert wear large headphones while playing live?
I don't think so. Tone comes from his hands, fingers and soul. Put a Pignose in front of Mr. Gilbert and he will sound the same. For me amps, are just a little part of the TONE. There are so many others components that defines the final TONE.
@Halocon it's stewart bull haha, what did he do wrong?
2:55 WHAT????
Awkward moment when a a guy tries to make a joke, but you get more humor from a unknown lump.
Is that pgm30?
yeah that was a very awkward way to present that joke...
@typedeaf cause ur not Gilbert ?
Stuart: Colo Rado Bull Shit
i wish they would get better interviewers these days. any time i see interviews with it paul or vai, satch ect ect. they have a cheesy approch to the interview and its cringe worthy.....
This interviewer is cringeworthy.
