They were so in sync as a band that John could just show up and say "oh we're doing a number about leaving dogs in hot cars?" and just jump right in.

This clip is actually fake. The original lyric was "it's *not* okay to leave a dog in a hot car". Typical McCartney sentimentalism. John's contribution was the suggestion that it in fact *is* okay to do so, and the song would have more bite (no pun intended) if that were the lyric.

What most people don't realize is that the clip that went viral was actually a live performance from that time (hence the screaming crowds) but a studio version of the song was never actually released during that era. It's okay to leave your dog in a hot car was one of two early sixties beatle songs resurrected during the get back/let it be sessions (the other being the One After 909) and was only officially released on that album.

back when we made real music about the things that mattered! now today the woke media wants to tell us that we can’t leave dogs in hot cars. and modern music is so violent and vulgar. hurts my heart to see what this country has become. i love the beatles john paul george and ringo!!! rest in peace john rest in peace george long live paul and ringo. always fab❤️

Exactly. No one ever got hurt by this. Except for the hot dogs, but they didn't know any better it was the 60s. it was only later in the mid 90s when people realised that you actually shouldn't leave dogs in hot cars.

The lyrics to their hit song "Baby You Can Drive My Car" were actually just a re-wording of a song that Paul wrote when he was just starting out. The band agreed that they needed a more approachable playlist to break into the music industry at the time, so they tweaked the lyrics and gave it an upbeat melody. It wasnt until after they earned their fame that Paul revisited his original lyrics and brought a fresh melody to this masterpiece of song writing. Such an amazing history behind The Beatles.
