2009 Western Conference Finals Game 6, May 29, 2009 | The Lakers needed another balanced attack in order to beat the Nuggets and avoid being forced into a game 7 like the Houston Rockets were able to do in the previous round. Balance is exactly what they got as Pau Gasol and Trevor Ariza both had superb performances to help put the Lakers over the top. Ariza got off to a hot start with 10 points on 4-5 shooting to help the Lakers build a small lead. He continued to take advantage of open looks with the Nuggets doubling Kobe Bryant, ending the night with 17 points while making 7 of 9 shots and 3 of 4 from three. Gasol had another fantastic all-around game with 20 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals to help guide the Lakers to a blowout win and advance to the NBA Finals for the second straight season.
