The Ed Sullivan Show was a television variety program that aired on CBS from 1948-1971. For 23 years it aired every Sunday night and played host to the world's greatest talents. The Ed Sullivan Show is well known for bringing rock n' roll music to the forefront of American culture through acts like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. The entertainers each week ranged from comedians like Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield, to Broadway stars Julie Andrews and Richard Burton, to pop singers such as Bobby Darin and Petula Clark. It also frequently featured stars of Motown such as The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and The Jackson 5. The Ed Sullivan Show was one of the only places on American television where such a wide variety of popular culture was showcased and its legacy lives on to this day.

She is stunning here! Gorgeous dress and voice to match! If only performers of today, realized how extremely beautiful these icons dressed. Thank you for sharing! 💖

I've never met a person over 75 who doesn't adore this song. Including my Mom and Dad. A song for the ages that still sounds beautiful to us "youngsters" today. Would love to see an ES show performance that was closer to the date it was released.

Legendary! The singing rage performing her signature song. Tennessee Waltz is the second best selling record of al time, only surpassed by Bing Crosby's White Christmas. Thank you for this beautiful Patti clip. Please keet them coming. And please give us more Connie Francis clips as well.

"Tennessee Waltz" is probably Patti's most famous song, a #1 hit from 1950. Patti sang a medley of her hits on this episode filmed at the Stardust Nightclub in Las Vegas, and I assume this is the end portion. Other medley songs listed include "Doggie in the Window," "Old Cape Cod," "With My Eyes Wide Open," and "Allegheny Moon". She also sang "Night and Day" and that was uploaded here quite a while ago.

I remember when I was a little girl, I heard this song played so many times. Loved it then, STILL love it .. it's one of many songs I used to sing when I was having a shower or mopping floors or riding the horses. Memories are wonderful....
