I definitely regret not touching on "Then We Fight" content as well as not giving competitive battling it's rightful spotlight. There's honestly so much else to Pokemon on KZread that I may make a follow-up in the future to cover the rest of it! My own personal bias definitely swayed which specific topics and creators I covered, and I'm hoping to improve beyond that in videos going forward! (I also, in retrospect, regret using the term "Micro-communities". I wish I had used "Sub-Communities" instead.)

i think right now its more of a Category than Era. since the community grew bigger than it was before,. we have lots of different poketubers do that specific things that fans of the specific pokemon community enjoys. like Nuzlockers, Shiny Hunters, Speed Runners, Challege Runs, Casual/Pro - Competitives, Theorist, Artist, RomHack/Fangames playthrough and more. the Pokemon KZread is like a small sapling that grew for years and it turn into this one big tree with different fruits in it.

The current Poketuber scene kinda has it all. Nuzlockes are still doing decently strong. You got competitive stuff/knowledge building with Wolfe and FalseSwipeGaming. You got the then we fights with this group and quick and chillin. You got the crazy challenges no sane person would do like SmallAnt are doing. Usually I find myself watching themes/topics super heavy for a month or two and then getting bored and moving on, but I've been watching you guys and Smant and Quick/Chillin for a couple of years now and it still isn't old. One thing really is, like you mentioned, the chemistry or personality. It's more about the people in the videos and pokemon is just the vehicle that ya'll have chosen to use to entertain. :3

I honestly miss the long form videos for LPs, mostly 'cause if I'm playing Pokemon or another RPG with a lot of grinding, I like to listen to the videos as they chatter along as they grind as well. Whenever they skip past that, I feel stressed out and not want to finish the video, 'cause now I'm behind and won't ever catch up by the time I reach the next boss... That being said, short form videos are just fun to watch when you got not much else to do. XD Or multitasking with another project that isn't related to the game they're talking about.

It would have been nice if Pikasprey at least got a mention for popularizing the "Can I beat _____ game using only _____ Pokemon?" format, with his Ditto/Red & Blue video, which blew his channel up and got millions of views. I know he wasn't ever like one of the BIG Poketubers, but he deserves the recognition. His video came out over a year before the Mudkip/Emerald video. People just loved the idea, and aimed to replicate that success with similar videos ("Can I beat Red with just a Ratatta", etc) I mean maybe someone else still did it first, but those types of videos weren't "a thing" before his Ditto video got traction, which was so well written and the presentation was so organized. And then after the moderate success of a few copycats, they were absolutely EVERYWHERE; I remember Mah-Dry-Bread's thumbnails specifically.

Unpopular opinion but I, don't really like all the 'Kaizo Ironmon' type things. They impose so many restrictions on how to play the game, on top of the mod already being mad harder (stronger teams/more fights etc) it just, doesn't seem *fun*. Especially not when it seems like there's ONLY one strat/team that can win it and if you miss anything then it's over for you. Like you miss this specific encounter for w/e reason? Well you're doomed. And like, where's the fun in that, in having only one route you can follow if you want to finish it. (At least if PChal's vids were any indication) Making it hard is one thing. Making it down right impossible/giving yourself only one route to follow, is no fun at all.
