Risk Disclosure:
Futures and Forex trading contains substantial risk and is not for every investor. An investor could potentially lose all or more than the initial investment. Risk capital is money that can be lost without jeopardizing ones’ financial security or life style. Only risk capital should be used for trading and only those with sufficient risk capital should consider trading. Past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results.
Hypothetical Performance Disclosure:
Hypothetical performance results have many inherent limitations, some of which are described below.
No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses similar to those shown; in fact, there are frequently sharp differences between hypothetical performance results and the actual results subsequently achieved by any particular trading program. One of the limitations of hypothetical performance results is that they are generally prepared with the benefit of hindsight. In addition, hypothetical trading does not involve financial risk, and no hypothetical trading record can completely account for the impact of financial risk of actual trading. for example, the ability to withstand losses or to adhere to a particular trading program in spite of trading losses are material points which can also adversely affect actual trading results. There are numerous other factors related to the markets in general or to the implementation of any specific trading program which cannot be fully accounted for in the preparation of hypothetical performance results and all which can adversely affect trading results.

    22:53 Confused. Why does the bar you labeled “Exit” count as the bear bar to exit? The bear bar in the pullback 8 candles prior is just as significant. And I see 4-5 pullbacks, not just 3.

    Thank you so much Brooks. Very intersting video and so detailed. I want to study price action for intraday trading and currently searching for a price action course and study material. A few questions please regarding your video trading course: 1. Can I purchase your course to learn more about price action for day trading Crude Oil on the 3 or 5 minute chart? I only intraday trade Crude Oil futures on the 3 minute chart. 2. Do you recommend a trader wanting to learn more about price action intraday trading to purchase the price action video course AND the Al Brooks price action books? Thank you so much.

    Is this TA stuff still relevant, when everyone seems to be migrating to more sophisticated charts incorporating DOM, volume profile, order flow, etc. I don't know just asking whether I should move away from pure TA?

  • @huntergill7

    @huntergill7

    price action> anything else. order flow is helpful when combined with price action, but not as a sole basis of trading. same applies to other indicators, they arent consistently helpful if you rely on them over price action.

    It's a bit of a matter of choice as there are certainly plenty of methods to play the market and a gazillion teachers, lol. To AL Brooks credit, his books and videos provide a comprehensive view of TA though it can be difficult to master. For me, and I am no master, it is allowing me to go from struggling trader to a bit profitable.....to a bit more profitable....etc, etc. So I commit to being a master of TA. But get this I also have books about Smart Money Concepts which can help when the market is not driven by news and heavily manipulated. Ad far as indicators I use them or try to but I notice that after going a ways with Brooks price generally beats indicators. If you study enough "good" TA you will be for more advanced than an indicator reading. Use them for confirmation of your read of the chart. One last thing. Trade and backtest ideas constantly to get a strong feel for the market you want to trade using whatever concept you choose.....

    I would add that for intraday trading most important trend is 15 minute, 1h and 4h-- and daily trend candle has to be same color at least 2 days in the same direction. For intraday trading weekly & monthly trends do not matter much & can be ignored. For simplicity sake if 15 minute ,1h & 4h trends are in the same direction, you have a trade set up in the same direction (one could fine tune entry 0n 5 minute charts). In general daily candle has to be in the same direction for any trade--Sir, what do you have to say?
