High time that the Italians - who are no slouches at writing songs, let's face it - reclaimed this one for their nation. This dead-centre hit, this ocean-going classic, was one of theirs. Dusty heard it at San Remo, had it translated and sent it to the pantheon. But only the land of Puccini could have given birth to it. And the guy is glorious ... but how I wish he'd returned to the original Italian lyric in the closing furlong! Grazia Italia: te amo!

Saw Patrizio Buanne in concert in Newark, New Jersey! There is nobody like him our there!! He is a consummate performer, the epitome of class with incredible stage presence and magnificent voice! His delivery makes your heart skip a beat! Standing ovation all through the 2 hours-concert! Audience adores him for his sincerity and charm! A true Crooner in the best traditions!

It not only sounds much better in Italian, the lyrics are so much better in Italian. The song in Italian is about someone reassuring someone they love, rather than the English version which is about someone who pathetically wants to cling to a dead love.

You are correct. So, Michael Bublé, eat your heart out, aa you cannot hold a Roman candle to Patrizio Buanne. I discovered this singer by accident, while looking at Louis Prima videos. But, boy, am I impressed. And this is also coming from a huge Dusty Springfield fan. But Buanne has brought this tune back to Italy, where it originated, when the British Springfield first heard the song in January 1965 sung in Italian at the Sanremo Festival by its co-composer, Pino Donaggio. Originally titled "Io che non vivo (senza te)," the tune was co-written with Donaggio by the Festival team of Vito Pallavicini and Jody Miller, the latter an American country music singer from Oklahoma.

A beautiful rendition of an old "Dusty Springfield" classic. One of my favorites. I did not think it could be done any better.....until now. Patrizio, you have recorded an even better version. This is one of my all time favorites.

Phenominal, to say the least. I'm taking voice lessons currently. Most singers can sing in tune after a few months. Most pros are close in pitch on most notes. But seldom can a singer be pitch perfect on every note. Patrizio is such a singer. He is flawless. He could be the greatest male pop vocalist alive today. Hearing him is amazing.
