Huge Steelr fan here; Gonna be honest- we were real lucky to survive that last night. Brady & the offense was outta sorts and Gronk never got goin. My heart was in my throat that final 2:30 when Schuster missed the TD & Boswell had to kick 48yd try. Every Steeler was scared at that point cuz he already missed a 35ydr earlier. Tom's still the best tho.
Jaylen Samuels was a complete BEAST! My MVP of the game!
Honestly, we shot ourselves in the foot. False start penalty over and over again. That combined with Steelers defense standing strong. Good Game Pittsburgh!

the Steelers used the old Rex Ryan man-coverage pressure concepts along with the Giants strategies on defense to defeat the Pats. The Steelers also used this in 2011 and won, and used it some last seasons game and barely lost. I think Pit has finally learned to stay away from zone against these guys

They also used a few coverage disguises on Brady, which worked a few times but broke down at the end. Like at 10:06 to 10:11, Burnett (number 43) bailed to a deep zone which slowed Brady down on his read and led to the INT. But late in the 4th quarter, the Steelers tried to use that disguise again, but it completely backfired, which led to that huge strike at 12:25. You can even see Burnett bailing to the deep zone. Things Steelers did really well: 1. Run the ball. Samuels showed up. Keep that misdirection counter in next weeks playbook 2.offense of line. Gave ben plenty of time and big chunks on runs 3. Defense gave up 10 to the pats Joe Haden is the saving grace of that secondary Things that need improvement 1. Offense needs to capitalize. Big plays are nice but not on 2nd&10 all the time. 2. Zone coverage, particularly on play action. Linebackers need to hold zone and not over pursue.big runs and open zones are caused by over pursuit 3. Communication is key. Mix up on offensive route running and defensive responsibility cost us.

Wow, I have always said the Steelers secondary really struggles, and that was true for the first half, exhibit Hogan touchdown, but my god they did an amazing job adjusting at the half to shut Brady down. Great game boys
I remember that Pittsburgh New England games were like Kansas City Buffalo now. These teams matchups were something you look forward to in March for a game in December.

His ability to read their blitz packages, fake pressure looks and find the holes in their zone coverages made him a very difficult opponent to deal with. We're talking about a future Hall of Fame QB here and one of the best to ever play the position. However, things have changed. The last time the Steelers faced the Pats they outplayed them as well, even though it resulted in a loss. So much so that Brady himself admitted they got away with the win. The approach has changed, Pitt started playing a lot more man coverage and bringing more pocket pressure with the line and the effect was immediately noticeable. Brady can expect this type of game from the Steelers until the day he retires.

The Steelers defense played great today. So unexpected, we only allowed the pats to ten points and if we capitalized on more dives we would’ve won by a lot more. GG Patriots great game.

Dude u were not the only one. That last 2:30 of the gm heart stopped. I was swearing so loud in my laundromat when Shcuster didnt haul in that TD pass. And i was shaking when Boswell went to kick dat 48 yrdr. Then 2min with Tom Brady drivin the field with Julian Edelman pass just milking the clock. I let a huge scream when their 4th & 15 failed!
