Yeah that’s cause the whole point in the nfl is to win games/championships so when a player does it they are being successful. When a team is drafting a player it’s based on how they translate to the nfl so winning in college isn’t as important to them since it’s not directly connected to winning in the nfl. there are a ton of players who won in college that didnt win in the nfl but if a player has won in the nfl then that player did win in the nfl.

The Pats need to take Marvin Harrison Jr at #3 and then take all their draft assets and try to move back into the end of rd one or the top of rd two to take Michael Penix who should slip to the top of the 2nd. To make sure you get him, go back into the first rd with maybe The Chiefs or Ravens who don't need qb's. I wouldn't worry about injury concerns or cold weather arm strength with Penix. The draft is always a gamble and some of these qb's are simply not going to pan out as stars. Penix is one of the qb's i believe will pan out of this class. Even if he doesn't you have given Jacoby Brissett at least one high end wr target..... I know it's usually not wise to take a wr this high in a strong wr draft where Harrison Jr/Odunze types might be available late 1st thru rd 4 but i would make an exception in this case given the legacy of the Harrison family. At some point the organization has to address the offensive side of the ball. I also like the idea of taking a HOF level OT with the #3 pick but which of those very good tackles is the sure fire all pro? If they don't like Harrison Jr, trade out of the top 10 all together and maybe even out of the top 20..... Nothing wrong with stockpiling future picks and more young depth....

TBH all of the stuff that SKip and Keyshawn mentioned really duznt matter. Sometimes its harder to play in an offense where u dont throw the ball much and comparing Harbaugh's Michigan and Stanford teams makes no sense. I think one of the reasons they also didnt throw the ball as much is because they depended on their talent to run the ball and the staff wasnt as good at calling pass plays cuz no qb that Harbaugh has coached has had big passing numbers even Andrew Luck. Can JJ play in the NFL probably but no one is going to know until he actually plays if he is going to be good or not

@@Godsbackhand7 JJ had a nearly identical passing efficiency rating (sports reference) as Williams. He also had nearly an identical TD/INT ratio. His INT/game was much lower. If JJ played in the approximately 6 games he sat out in the fourth quarter, he could have padded his stats for sure. That is the only real difference statistically. As for TDs... No doubt that perhaps HALF of Corum's TDs from inside the 10 yard line could have been easy pass plays against weak opponents, but why bother. And you just showed how Nix and Penix have much better stats (much larger gap v. Williams and JJ). So why are you overlooking those stats and not calling Williams the FOURTH QB, because he trails those two other QBs and Jadyn Daniels by a wide margin statistically?

Drafting McCarthy will be the smartest decision New England will have made in years. What people don’t consider is if he was this good on 3rd down conversions and pass completions without getting the chance to throw the ball that often imagine how much better his stats would be. Also he has the IT factor that Maye is missing.

The run game didn't get good until PSU when they put 9 men on the line of scrimmage at PSU. Corum only had three 100 yard games and Edwards one. All from PSU to Washington. Teams stacked 8 in the box to force J to beat them and he did. He had more pass attempts than Tom Brady and Harbaugh at Michigan keyshawn. Just because you played doesn't mean you know talent. Go back and watch MMQB with Devin Gardner on the Michigan insider for the last three year where they break down the offense for every game and maybe you will understand the hype. I saw the intangibles and skillset when he was a freshman, but not everyone can analyze talent. Here are the intangibles: high IQ (ran Michigan's offense from the line of scrimmage without help), alpha aka leader, winner, confident, has willpower in spades, is fearless, athletic, tough as nails, unselfish, (played injured from PSU to Bama and refused to leave the Maryland game though he was in tears at halftime), eats, sleeps, and breaths football, and is obsessed with being great. This is why his stock has risen. J.J. is more pro ready than the others.

This debate about the best QB regardless of the physical characteristics of each one, I think it should be simplified into the following simple attribute, Game Management... as simple as that. which of the QB is potentially the best at managing those moments when the right play, or 2m from the end of the 4.Q, the right sequences to be able to take the team within striking distance of a field goal or a TD.. Of the 3 most talked about QBs for the Patriots, in this particular case it seems that JJ is the most similar to Brady.. game management, system QB.. Drake seems to me that he could become excellent but he needs different players to be able to demonstrate all his physical and technical virtuosity. Jayden may turn out to be a Lamar, but I fear the physique may not last. In conclusion, I'm starting to feel that JJ may not be the most spectacular nor the most physically gifted, but with the right plays, good ground game, we could have a QB of the future.
