He wasn't lying about his days being numbered. This special came out February 19, 2011 and he died on November 29, 2011. This whole special is great you'll should check out more of it.

Kevin Hart was on stage one night and Patrice threw a phone book on the stage and yelled, "READ IT!, it has better material!". He literally helped shape a few comics careers with his insight.

The fact that Patrice was like that to other comedians tempered a lot of today's good comedians. That's a good thing.

Unfortunately i found out about my favorite comedian of all time after he had passed but luckily there is hundreds of hours archived on youtube. RIP to the funniest man to ever do it.

Patrice, Kevin hart and Bill Burr all used to kick it in the same crew. Patrice is my favorite comedian of all time.
More Patrice and more Carlin. Two of America’s finest comics ever! There are a lot more gem routines, from this “Elephant In The Room” special.
Patrice built the path for these comedians that don’t give a shit about offending ppl one of the goats
Patrice was a comedian whi operated off always being 100% honest with himself and philosophy, which cost him in both recognition, and money from opportunities he had but wouldve had to compromise in a little bit, he wouldn't do it. A true artist.
MORE from this special for sure..To me, this special was the perfect culmination of his genius, where it felt like he was hitting his sweet spot of comfort and wit
Patrice will always hold a special place in my heart. I listen to him almost every time I'm in my car off to work or wherever when he was on this podcast type of show called The Opie and Anthony Show. We are blessed to have enough of Patrice's material out there. Could use more tho, one of the best.
Regarding Patrice's reputation among comics - there was an article in NY magazine titled "The Comedian Comedians Were Afraid Of". Well worth the read. Ricky Gervais, on Nov. 13 2018 answered a fan's question "Who is your favorite comedian?". He tweeted - "Patrice O'Neal".

So many big comedians claim Patrice is the goat. Hard to argue with. :)
The thing about Patrice is he didn't give a F. He told people exactly what he thought and pulled no punches. He would have had an absolute field day in these current cancel culture times. He hated political correctness. He would be un-cancellable because he just didn't give a F.
He was a comic’s comic.
Do other clips of elephant in the room. Also "Harassment Day"

Great! The Bit about the woman and the fish, or Natalie Hollaway, they were amazing!
Yes do more!!!!
Aww man I thought it was going to be the entire special after seeing the description. Elephant in the room was the name of his entire 1hr long special
PLEASE do Patrice's "High Quality White Women". It's HYSTERICALLY HILARIOUS!!!!
Patrice was amazing. I didn't discover the bulk of his work until his passing, but I'm glad I at least got a taste and knew of him enough to watch this when it came out before he died. Just started getting into O & A, knew some of his previous work... but yo. No other special like it. Killing Them Softly (Chapelle, who could have 2-3 entries in the top 5), Thrilled (Tom Segura), etc, Elephant in the Room stands alone. Most comedians, you're hoping your career specials might be a .650+ on base percentage and you'll have 4-5 home runs. Patrice was hitting game 7 grand slam, ticker tape, bottom of the 9th, down 3, 2 out, moonshots with every swing of the bat. Diverse material, well constructed, flowed well, improv'd and fed off the audience and the set dressers. Genuinely brilliant special and a crown jewel in his career no matter what he ever did or would have done, he made Elephant in the Room. Crystalline real performance here.
The Patrice O'Neal roast where Bill Burr goes at him, and then Patrice goes after him still makes me cry laugh everytime I see it
Patrice is a legend. This standup special elephant in the room is my favorite thing he did. He is going to talk about contraversial topics and try to make it awkward and uncomfortable. Once you realize he's trying to make you feel uncomfortable then you're free to laugh your balls off.
One of your best reactions. Don't worry about pausing. If you're enjoying it, we're enjoying it. Feels like we're in that shitty meeting room with you blokes :-)
elephant i the room is amazing from start to end but you especially have got to see the part in it about women/ relationships/and sport fishing. its one of the funniest comedy bits ive ever heard
His bit puppies in a cup from this same special is one of the greatest bits look it up
I have never heard him before--he's so good.
Patrice did not tolerate "WOKE People". it's been said that, that was the reason he was not as well known. Ask any of the top comedians today, they'll tell you, Patrice O'Neal is THE KING
Thank yall sooo much for all the Patrice you can do!
I would love to see someone take the time to react to what he was trying to do with the Black Phillip Show...That would take some time it be so worth it.
Big Man really left us with his masterpiece
Do the whole thing, boys. It's great. ♥️
My favorite moments with him was on the radio show Opie& Anthony. There's plenty of Patrice-centric compilations made on youtube, quite easy to find. Some of my favs is him just talking about movies
R.I.P the legend ,his appearances on opie and Anthony alongside bill burr are hilarious ,check them in your own time
I was just thinking the other day I wish you would do something from elephant in the room! 1 of the best standup specials of all time!
With people Canceling Comedians because they no hold barred comedy 🎭 it’s ironic he pass away before then. In which that kept his comedy more Rare I guess I can say. He very funny 💯 RIP 🪦
There's so much patrice oneal gold. Its amazing
Patrice never wanted to sell out who he was and wouldn't tap dance for TV show execs. He stayed true to himself. He was his biggest obstacle from stardom. He does have appearances on Chappelle's Show and had a recurring role in the American version of The Office.
Great to see people from all over recognize Patrice's brilliance, RIP Big Man.
I'm not sure if it's been mentioned before but you guys consistently rank Burr & Patrice at the top of the comedy game, and I think that's great because they "came up" in comedy together and were best friends. Burr talks about Patrice all the time if you listen to his podcasts. He truly loved the man. RIP Patrice.
You guys are awesome!
You guys should react to Patrice on Tough Crowd, and also "Patrice O'Neal Owns The Room & Gets Serious About Comedy".
"The greatest story ever told on radio" by patrice is crazy interesting. Even if it needs to done in parts please check it out.
Thank you for checking out Patrice, he was more than just a comedian he was a philosopher and super smart
Man I miss this dude. Rest in power Patrice.
The elephant in the room is one of theeee funniest specials ever made
I know that just commenting this will ruin it, but damn, I cant remember the last time I saw a video with hundreds of thumbs up and zero thumbs downs lol. Says a lot for this channel, and of course the late great Patrice O'Neal.
Ohhh I enjoyed your reaction omg 😱
that Special is something else.. 🙌😎
Patrice O'Neal - The Nasty Show (part 1 & part 2) is a must to react to.
He makes a good point about typing. In grade 9 we had to take typing. It was 1980 and we were still using manuals. I was catching on pretty quick, so the teacher wanted to move me to an electric at the front of the class. I wanted no part of being the best male typist in my grade so I declined for fear of being called gay and the accompanying bullying. Now I am a slow two finger search and pecker on the keyboard.
Patrice O’Neal - football is gold !!!
Patrice O'Neal = legend!
People say Patrice O'Neal would have been cancelled, but I don't think these people know him well. Patrice had enormous empathy and was very understanding of the suffering of people. He would absolutely be Woke. He was already Woke; just listen to his points about racism and inequality. Most of his work is over a decade old and it's still relevant to us today, more so than many comics from that era or after.
This special is one of the best I've ever seen. There's so much content there. React to the women age vs men. Or the men fishing clip 🤣
I'll have a drink for you guys. Keeping one of the best ever alive.
Rest King Patrice 👑. Dude was amazing
Definitely my favorite comedian. Ralphie May is a close 2nd.
😂 you gotta watch the rest of that last joke
I struggle with restaurant too LMAO!
Ah the genius of Patrice. RIP
Cracks me up every time
My favourite story is Kevin hart saying he was on stage and hears something land on stage and it was a phone book then he’s Patrice yell “READ IT..ITS FUNNIER THEN WHAT YOUR SAYING”
If you're looking for the full Patrice O'Neal "experience", you have to see "the nasty show", his most infamous performance, and possibly the funniest shit you will ever see in your life! warning!!! not for the faint of heart!
Great fkn choice gentlemen!
“Harassment Day” by Patrice is another good one.
"A happy man is a happy relationship. A happy woman is a miserable man." -- Patrice O'Neal
I memorized how to spell restaurant after first seeing this bit. You know, just in case. I break it apart by rest-au-rant.
Watch the greatest story ever told on radio by him on the opie and Anthony show. This will give you an insight on him especially his views on women
The polo on Office Bloke Mike is fire I need one lol
Patrice was his own worst enemy, by his own admission. Look up: Chris Rock Patrice O'Neal Opie and Anthony- Chris Rock pretty much sums up Patrice, to his face, in a way only he could, in a studio appearance.
I would love to see you guys react to “harassment day” and “the nasty show”. Patrice was the best!!
RIP Patrice
Rest in Power Mr. O'Neil 🙏

It doesn't literally mean the best guy around. It's more like "top notch" or "one of the greats"
Do more of this special!
His material was great but, even with no material, he was just plain funny. He was the kind of guy that could have an entire restaurant laughing from just him placing an order.
Best ever
You guys should check out some Lisa Lampanelli stand up
Patrice O'neal's uninhibited persona was an example that you don't need to make everyone laugh, to get a lot laughs.
He's totally right : I'm 42 years old , and I'm just taking a knee and running out the clock ! ! !
Literally can't miss with Patrice. You might enjoy some of his Black Phil show where he constantly made people look stupid and won every argument in regards to women
Echoing what others have said, this whole special is great! High Quality White Woman is hysterical and he also does a bit about American football that is damn funny!
Check out his "Elephant in the room" bit about animals
There's a pretty cool clip called Patrice destroys feminist or some clicky title like that when you ask about woke culture. It's not a standup bit but it's a great interview.

Make sure to do Part 1 & Part 2, especially Part 2
Patrice was one of those guys like Norm Macdonald who could never become huge financially because they wouldn't change to fit the Hollywood machine. As comics, madly successful, but uncompromising. Norm has been cancelled and 'shamed' for speaking freely a couple times recently. Patrice was even more in your face about it. Many called him self-destructive career-wise because he feared 'selling out'
