Patriarchal blessings are an amazing gift. Don't make the mistake of letting it collect dust in your filing cabinet (though i suggest making a copy to highlight and notate so you can still keep the original copy crisp and clean). I gave myself the challenge of reading mine at least once a week with the intent of learning something new each time. My life and testimony have grown exponentially in the short span of a couple months. Don't take your blessing for granted. Hand in hand with faith and good works/keeping the commandments, it can work wonders in your life.

Although this may sound very cliche, go talk with your bishop. Not only does he have resources to help you better understand these types of things, he also has the proper Priesthood keys to receive inspiration on how to help you. No one here on the KZread comments section has that power or authority (unless your bishop was on this comment thread, but anyways). What ever you may have done, that is your bishop's role... to help.

Do LDS believe they are of the actual linage of Israel? So, when you receive your patriarchal blessing in it it will say what tribe of Israel you are literally from. Meaning what tribe runs in your blood, your DNA. Mine says this: "You come through a special lineage, that of the blood of Israel, through the loins of Ephraim." I am sorry, but no Israel blood runs in my veins. Truth is, now that we have DNA, we can see the lies of the LDS Church and their so called "revelations." from LDS dot org: "In view of the foregoing statements, we can see that the lineages declared in patriarchal blessings are almost always statements of actual blood lines; they are not simply tribal identifications by assignment. ( House of Israel)

Could you give me a link to where it says that? Anyways, if it does say that, then there should be an emphasis on "almost." From every source I've heard, it has been made clear that the tribe you're in is not necessarily you DNA. In most cases, you're really just adopted into that tribe and to follow the work thereof. And are you certain that you don't have Israel blood?

God created man, man created religion! Jesus wants us to follow Him, not religion. Jesus said I Am the way, not religion is the way. Jesus said Follow Me, not follow me then pick some brand of worldly religion to follow also. Jesus never followed a religion. In fact Jesus was against the religious people of His day and He even went as far as to call them the children of the devil. The 12 disciples never followed religion, they only followed Jesus. So why is it that Mormons and other religious people believe they need to create or join a religion???? People seek after religion because Jesus and the Gospel are no longer enough for them. As Jesus is no longer enough for them they create a religion to follow. It is like the people of Moses' day, where the people created a golden calf and worshiped it. Mormons have set their religion before them like an idol. They worship it and they defend it. Mormons need their book of Mormon because they believe that the Bible which contains all that Jesus did and taught is not enough for them. Mormons believe "church" = a religious institution Christians know "church" = people, followers of Jesus, His sheep. Mormons are not Christians. They put their religion first and Jesus last. Mormons are Mormon first and Christians second. Mormons will always defend their religion because they hold it closer to their heart than they do Jesus and His Gospel. Mormons are the most deceived church upon the earth. Mormons belong to: The Church Of Joseph Smith of Latter Day Deceived The Book Of Mormon is The Most Corrected Book Upon The Earth The Book Of Mormon is Another Deception Of The Anti Christ The Book Of Mormon is Joseph's Myth Christians will always attack religion because IT is not of God. Mormons will always defend their religion because THEY are not of God. Religious people always need a religion to go through to get to God. Christians only need Jesus to get to Him and the Father. Any time that a church tells you that you have to go through them to get to God it is usually a cult. When Mormons bear testimonies it is more so to convince EACH OTHER that their religion is true than to bear witness or convince non believers. Mormons spend so much of their time bearing testimonies on the book of mormon being true and their church being true. Christians already know that the bible is true and we know that anyone who follows Jesus are His true church. Christians just get on with teaching the gospels and all that is contained within the bible. Mormons just continue trying to convince everyone that their book of Mormon is true rather than devoting all their time to teaching anything out of it. Mormons believe they can be married for all eternity. The bible tells us that there is NO marriage beyond this life. It also tells us that there is neither male nor female. Mormons choose to believe fables over the truth which is the Holy Bible. Jesus leads to salvation. Joseph leads to damnation.

VIP BLACKJACK YGFAMSTAN-you are a Mormon and it does not matter that your general authority got rid of your name which has been around for a very long time. And it is grotesque to have the Name that is above all name, “Jesus Christ” in the title of your corporation acting as a church. It is as if your church is attempting to be more Christian like, and even added an image of Christ with his hands open. You are Mormon, so continue to praise the man. There is no such thing as a patriarch blessing in the Bible. Another false doctrine that Mormons can’t see for what it is. Read the Bible and dump this false religion. Don’t give me the, “I know that it true and JS was gods prophet.. blah blah” crap!

@@lort1204 The name has always been The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. People originally used the term Mormon as an epithet and the members didn't care because they knew the truth. Instead of fighting the truth you should look into it with an open heart. Best of luck.

3:30 the bible warns against endless genealogies and baptisms for the dead is an ancient Egyptian practice. You cannot baptize the dead. True baptism is to receive Jesus in this life. The true baptism is not water but the blood of Jesus. Jesus did say that His blood is the real drink. Dead people can no longer drink. It is too late for them. Mormonism goes against the bible in every way.

You believe in the bible and the prophets of old, do you not? If so, tell me why God would abandon us? Why would He cease to speak with His children that He loves? In doing so He would be stopping His work and glory - to bring His children home. The best way to find out the truth is not to listen to us or take our or anyone's word for it. The best way is to ask of God. Just as James directs: If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God." If you ask, with real and pure intent, He will make all things known unto you.
