Should always double check all the loops. It's nothing something that should be done quickly. Also, nothing was protecting the patients head from swinging back when lowering him onto the bed.. in reality his neck would have been in hyperextension.

Also, the bar was near to the person`s head, and was slightly lowered near his head, this could cause a head injury if the bar was knocked accidently.

@@TheJoannebwn1968 There are legal implications to giving the patient the controller, at least here in the UK. Yes, I agree, not the best choice of sling but don't forget that a toileting aperture may have been necessary. As for the dignity thing, until we all become experts in magical levitation we are stuck with hoisting.
@TheJoannebwn1968

Before fining the controller you would complete a risk assessment, when hoisting, his legs are a huge risk of being bruised. Try going in from the side. Hoist will always be here. Be kind to people include dignity in all practices
@Stuy_B
3 жыл бұрын
@@theospreygroup4397 What an unprofessional answer and to admit in your own words "yes i agree not the best choice of sling " then surely it would be in the interest of service user to have a proper assessment to enable the correct equipment, and as far as a toileting "aperture" there was no demonstration of a toilet transfer. where was the other carer (best practice to have two carers) and brakes should only be applied if the service user is on the carpet or any other flooring and then released after the first few inches of the hoisting, other than that brakes should not be applied to hoists when being used. NOTE TO VIEWERS STAY AWAY FROM THE ABOVE .. THE OSPREY GROUP

ورشه عمل للرافعه للمريض
Thanks, but you may want to say "him" instead of "the patient." It sounded like you said "the patient" too many times. Also, these are for people at home and not under medical care, so maybe not necessarily a patient.

This is a great review. Not I see a good way to put the sling onto the patient while he/she is in a chair.

George Song 0秒钟前 Put the pack on the bed, move body, turn left, turn right. The pack will behind of the back body. Then lift up.
observation, in the interest of safety, pulling and dragging those leg straps from the hips to go under the leg was a bit rough, also where is your 2nd carer, and you say safely move them to the next surface...again not safe,patient should have been placed into wheelchair and pushed from one are to the next, ridiculous video

I noticed that too. Especially when he was lifting the man from the bed. It slid a bit. Also I thought that the "feet" should have been spread when lifting and lowering the patient.

never use brakes on a hoist, could tip
@Danni317

I'm unsure who taught you that but it is false putting the breaks on when using a lifter can be harmful as it can throw off the center of gravity which can cause the lifter to tip. however he should have had the feet widend slightly.

at least take his dignity into consideration, give the man the button, let him get involved, never criss cross a sling, he has genitals like you, the sling isnt even on properly, hes not on the correct sling going into a lay position, full body sling is required for this, omg the pain , this should not be used as a training video

@TheJoannebwn1968

Before fining the controller you would complete a risk assessment, when hoisting, his legs are a huge risk of being bruised. Try going in from the side. Hoist will always be here. Be kind to people include dignity in all practices

Replace the word “patient” with his name. You will foster more care and dignity for him. Addressing him as “patient” creates an unnecessary perceived lack of concern for this person.
