They already spawn over the place. 1 is usf last hope. Another just for abuse a whole faction (UKF)

Every 3rd USF already spamming for the last month or two Pathfinders and every 2nd OKW spams Jaegers for the last 2 years

from what I remember, the sniper upgrade for the JLI doesn't take a weapon slot, so if you get lucky in a game, you can have a JLI with 2 lmg's and a g43 sniper

@@NathanielKrige JL are likely to get the mg 42 lmg which can't be fired on the move but the Pathfinders are likely to get the Bar/M1919A6 which can be fired on the move making the Pathfinders the superior of the two units.

@@benedictjajo and the M1919a6 cant be fired on the move, so i dont get what is your problem? If your can take bars with jagers, they will fire on the move too. Those two units are not the one, you want to maneuvre with. You want to attack with them at a max possible range. They drop like flies. Obers can fire their mg34s on the move, but the DPS is bad and you dont want to get with them into melee range...
Excellent video 👍 Quite surprising details. Honestly, apart from the very obvious difference in LOS between vehicles and infantry, I really didn't notice too much of a difference in general. But 65 vs 50 is HUGE. Interesting stuff, thanks!

Super informative, thank you!!! Yeah Jaeger lights are super annoying to deal with, and I was always wondering why, until I discovered this sniping mechanic a year or so ago. You could add that this mechanic alone may be enough to scare me as soviet not to go sniper if I see okw has overwatch in this loadout

Ayo you forgot vet 5 vs vet 3 in green cover. Edit: maybe you could have touched on jägers with picked up weapons, like one or two bars. I'm not sure if I remember correctly, but I think their sniper stays even after picking up two weapons. Shit's scary. Best combo I ever got on them was an mg42 and a bren. Absolute fucking unit of a squad.

Love the comparisons and guide. I know that it seems obvious and people should know since they are the basic frontline units but I’d like to see a vid on the base frontline infantry for each faction in relation to each other. Plenty of people don’t seem to know how and where to use their units cause they don’t know what ranges cons win against grens for example.

A very informational video, one thing I would have also covered is the overall costs effectiveness Yeager lights are way more expensive than pathfinders in addition to pathfinders being way easier to vet up that is why you see them spammed because they are cheap and easy to replace which is why they are spammed

Main think is when they picked at gun or mg. their vision range is same as they are.
I think the best combo for pathfinders is to mix them with a squad of paratroopers upgraded with 2X M1919 machine gun. While the Machine gun reduces the enemy to the sniping threshold, pathfinders finish the job. Similar case is with the jeager lights and obersoldatens with MG34. Overall, I think Jeager lights are a bit overperforming for their price especially in the late game, wiping squads faster than they should. Maybe reducing the sniping threshold a bit would make it more balanced.

I don't think there will be anymore balance reworks or patches anymore unfortunately. People who play Wermacht exclusively will still take to the forums and say that JLIs are balanced

I don’t find any issues with pathfinders, but I find the meta combo of both Pathfinders and Scot spam is borderline broken, especially if the pathies are given bazookas to defend said scots. Scotts as a whole are extremely hard to counter without an armor push as they are quite literally mobile pack howitzers and gain a free get out of jail card with their smoke ability at vet 1. I’ve lost too many games with people who knew what they were doing with this strategy, but then again, Airborne is probably the only viable commander against axis, that actually forces them to micro, as the Americans, IMO.

@@OriGummie I am hoping there might be one last patch before the release of COH3. But if there isn't, it is just sad to see a unit being broken this much.
Personally I wouldn't spam pathfinders in any usf build it would leave you vulnerable to enemy tanks, I have seen multiple instances where pz4 just yolo's into my rear lines and catches an important units.

A common tactic is you get 2 zoolas for pathfinders spam and then spam scots for infantry fighting

It doesn´t leave you that vulnerable, tbh. Their huge sight range means that when you place them in cover close to the enemy, you can watch their movements the whole time. As long as you pay attention, you will get 2-3 shots on any flanking tank with your Jackson before it even gets in range. Besides, it´s not like Riflemen are good against tanks. Their AT grenade has short range and they have no sprint ability, so the tank will get away most of the time anyway.
funny statement: JLI cant spam as mainline inf. Meanwhile in 2v2 high level (rank 1-100), Okw just stack 2-4 JLI and shitting UKF or everyone in theirsight.

Stacking 2-4 Jaeger lights requires stalling for them which mean that your infantry presence for the first few minutes is minimal . It's a risk

This cant be true man if you get 3 JLI you run out of manpwer unless you dont build other infantry meaning you pretty much lose the early game too hard to ever recover. Only 2 JLI is viable everything else should not work and if it does it means YOU messed up.

@@aziouss2863 actually 3 jlis is still legit, means u just skip the light vehicle build a third jli and go for a faster p4, that works against brits in some cases since u do not really need the flak or puma against the aec, and the jlis are just far superior over the normal sections, if the brit goes for a halftrack it can have a different outcome tho and tommy guns, as i said before, work great against them as well coz u force the jlis into close combat, okw will loose map controll easily through that

Very informative but i see a lot of jager spam in 1 vs 1 in my bracket i am trailing around 140
Seems when you play against expert AI those stats get thrown out of the window. Now have only seen this with the Soviet faction but, they get a kill and instantly get vet. I have to get almost 2 kills for a vet. I don't know if killing elite troops or not gets you faster vet.

Yes, different units give different amount of exp. A sniper for example gives a ton of exp, even though its only 1 model. Shocktroopers, Obersoldaten etc also provide a lot of exp while conscripts are almost not worth the ammo (exaggerated). But also remember that units gain exp at different rates. Gonk also mentiones this in his video here. Even though a cheating AI is a fair point.

In 1v1? 1, maybe 2 In team games you could do more, even go 3 with no rifles.

There are several different g43 profiles in the game. They're all good at close and medium range though. The only exception is the Jaeger Light Infantry g43 sniper. See my video on panzerfusiliers vs volksgrenadiers for more info

@@rakibalhassan5156 Yeah, game is not realistically accurate so having a G43 doesn't matter, if its not a "G43 Sniper" then its not good at long range. Normal g43 in the game is more like a carbine.
The Axis unit wins again despite not costing nearly as much...how surprising.

Sure, jli is not "spamable" but somehow pp runing 3x jager built everywhere in 4v4 nowday. Also yeah, pathfinder come "upgraded" but somehow 120 muni latter they still get beaten by jli long range.

Pathfinder alone is definitely not worth 290mp, when the only ability they have is Beacon. Its just USF faction have so manything that work well for them, as Scott & Jack are long range units. Combine with weaponrack.

120 munitions on pathfinder not worth it... I'll gladly take a couple dropped Brens though.
Axis bias at its finest
Pathfinders are only good at maximum range and in groups of two or three. The headshot trait is a bit of a gamble, so increasing the number of pathfinders makes that gamble worth it...also anything more than three is counterproductive because of how easy it is to punish blobbing. I honestly don't understand why people whine about the unit. It's halfway decent at anti-infantry and not particularly strong at anything else.
Just limited to one call a day.

I really think all call-in infantry should be buffed but only limited to 1. They either super tough, or high utilities. I dont know why Jaeger command limited to 1, and they're not even much of fighter. Why other like Fallschrim, Commandos, Shock can be spammed.

@@WR1317 You can only call-in 1 Jaeger Command Squad because it's a COMMAND unit, it's function is to lead other units in the battlefield just like the Command Pz IV, the Officers from Ostheer and OKW and the Command Panther.

Only Paratroopers can be resupplied and Paras are probably the worst elite unit in the game. They take forever to drop, are horrible without any upgrades, got mediocre abilities and seems to have 100% chance of getting hit...

Remove the green cover in your tests and I have a feeling the pathfinders will do better.

Well you can do some tests! Would love to see the results. Most good players know the importance of cover tho and its very unlikely a long range engagement would be fought completely out of cover.

@@GonkOrange maybe not. My point is though that the .5 Vs .9 acc Vs cover is the most significant advantage the jli have in the test you set up. I would assume that is more effective against green cover? In any case, that advantage completely disappeares if there is no cover available. Another thing that might not be covered by your test is that 2x .40 threshold snipe might be more effective in a blob Vs blob combat because models will get to lower health faster...

Also they shouldn't have 50 range when underfire.
Pathfinders : 0CP. Can arm with BARs. Sniper garands not ignores cover. Shitty Veterancy growth. JLI : 1CP. Additional sniper rigle ignores cover(50%->90%)(except of Trench and vehicle cover). OPAF veterancy growth.
You forgot to explain the part that they're not op and how to counter them effectively...

@@DustyPazner yes, Jaeger lights are very good against Brits. Mortar pit or (to a lesser extent) AEC could help.
Since americans made the game they made sure their unit is OP and require less skill to use.
