Re: Judge One thing I think worth point out. _Despite the obvious narrative fit,_ Judge is one of the worst choices for the Aeon. Aeon is really hungry for swift actions, and Judge trades some of your free bonuses for _more_ actions that require swift actions.

Sanctified Slayer with the Animal domain is one of very few archetypes that give sneak attack progression and a pet. A mounted Trickster Sanctified Slayer it is a superb healer because you can spam completely normal Metamagic cure light wounds with sneaky quack adding precision healing equal to your sneak attack dice.

The base class is what I used during my Lawful Evil run in Kingmaker, and I loved it! Because Jaethal was in my party I eventually had my Inquisitor become a duelist and had Jaethal multiclass into Slayer around halfway in, just so that they would both feel distinct from one another, but even with the overlap I loved that group dynamic 🙂 I doubt I'll use Inquisitor when I finally start playing Wrath, since I don't like rehashing character builds between games, but this is a great class and the perfect thematic choice for any lawful evil playthrough 😀

Side note about Judge If you planned on going azata, as thematically clashing as that sounds, the loss of solo tactics is moot as you can share ALL your team work feats with your companions(including animal companions) with life-bonding friendship

I am interested in trying out the sanctified slayer as part of a 3-4 level dip for my deliverer slayer build. trying to decide whether aeon or a more lawful angel run than a merciful one would be the best fit. great summary of the classes btw. made things easier with understanding certain classes.

Sacred Hunstsmaster is particularly useful by giving you pet the Tandem Trip feat, which it usually wouldnt be able to get.

ahhh Inquisitor…arguably my first love between Paladin. Thank you!!!

Just a tidbit as to the monster tactician. It has a notable strength and weakness. Stength is the summons by its class feature are standard actions meaning you can move and cast it. It also makes the summon act the turn it is brought into existence making it more aggressive and a better distraction. Almost like animate dead in how quickly it acts. The draw back is that it's one at a time. You summon you selection and you can't spam it without replacing your previous choice.

Don't new versions of summons also replace the old ones? So even if you prefer to use the wolves and trip you cannot because the game forces you to use the highest level summon you have?

@@SlanderedGaming yep. You get the highest level of summon period so when you hit 6th or 7th level summon monster (I can't remember if dire wolves where summon monster 3 or 4) you lose access to dire wolves.

I used a Judge for a Lawful Neutral True Aeon, the class features work and its good; Judgment Aura is great and Sentence is pretty good too, but they both have limited uses per day (very limited until at least mid-game) and loss of Bane is still painful. It fits the concept perfectly, and I made him a mid-line reach weapon fighter, he crushes as a party buffer who gets big hits in, just gotta take Outflank the old-fashioned way.

I'm having a lot of good time as a Judge Inquisitor, Aeon mythic path.

Yup that path makes up for the loss of Bane.

I actually really like monster tactician. It's one of the most viable summoning builds in the game alongside Beast tamer

What really screws the summons in WoTR is the mythic paths. When all of your party have huge bonuses and the enemies are scaled to fight that, suddenly an extra frog on the battlefield matters much less.

Yup I agree. Plus besides maybe Aeon none of the Mythic Paths really specialize in making summons better.

I like fact, that you add in the outro ranks of all subclasses. I have one question to you, not too much in common with video. I just finished playing as Hellknight/angel with heavy shield and sword, so taken role of Damagedealer/tank. I wondering which class I should take in the new playthrought, mostly to take new combination of the party, when for most times I leave behind melee party memebers, like Seelath, Regill or Greybor. But I most like having my character on the front line, so it is hard to me taking class which is ranger attack or support. It would be better to me give a chance to new role in the party for my main character or change companions to fit another role in the party? I know this question sounds dumb, but I spend already many days on simple choise what class to play, not ewen leaving the character creation. Damit, I didn't had same problems with Baldur's gate or Dragon age.

Seems like you want to leave behind melee related party members and stick to characters like Ember and Lann? If so I would recommend Kineticist.

Ooooooooh so that's what judge does. Sounds hardcore dealing with concealment enemies

My take on monster tactician. It might be far better than C, probably a A. The summons is a much better version of the usual summon spell, sice the materialize and attack at the same turn. Also them have your teamwork feats, so Outflank and Seize the moment outright delete someone when triggered. The summons themselves have a nice interaction with endure spells, making them almost permanent, so they might last for multiple combats and there is mythic feat that improve them as well. My only concern is the AI, the good summons are dumb as hell, but provide buffs and auras to the party, but the evil ones are more efficient in general

Unless something has changed you don't get to control which summons you can use. Each time a new version comes you are forced to use those summons even if they are weaker than the previous version. That to me makes this a less desirable summoning class than some other version and consequently I put it at C.

damn.. one handed crossbow would have been great on this class... so i could take "Very" enthusiastic walks through the woods.

Judge on an azata run seems like it could be very powerful

I miss playing an Inquisitor.

I'm considering using the inquisitor for a Swarm mythic run. Teamwork feat would work with companions and then later with clones. Also cover any skill + bonus to perception and initiative. Though I'm not sure which archetype to use here 🤔. The judge sentence is cool, but the judgement aura would be useless (unless I want to stack every judgement). And losing bane + tw feat hurt. Would Sanctified slayer be worth it on swarm ? Or basic is better here with unlimited judgement ?

Why do you write off Judgement Aura? It would still be useful especially with the clones.

@@SlanderedGaming Because they could simply use theirs ? And I see no reason to use all of them at the same time. The precision and damage one are always good. The AC one and Saving throw too, I can sacrifice the damage for both of these. The rest seems situationnal.

I would say that you kinda undersell Monster Tactician. I would rank it higher as a B or A-, and that's because if you take the nature domain you can get a pet that will work with all the feats along with the summons. Take a pet that trips, like the wolf, and your little pack can shred enemies off attacks of opportunity. I mean you can still solo the game with the archetype if you build it right.

​​ @Slandered Gaming But with mythic abilities you can take a second domain, so you aren't exactly locked into taking the domain. But besides the pet you also get nature's ally which are generally better versions of Summon Monster as well as stacking with them, even if they don't last quite as long. Plus you have mentioned many times how useful pets are and how they redeem a class that would otherwise be mediocre. Plus animal domain is just one of the stronger domains you can take no matter the divine caster that can pick a domain. The fact you also get nature's ally and have the option of another domain with a mythic feat doesn't feel like it's to far off base from other classes that are saved solely by having a pet. Especially since inquisitors only get a max spell level of 6.

i made a judge character because of you.

Never liked skills like swift tactician or a lot of skills like it either. Like if you think about it, even at lv 20 that's what? A minute and some change of teamwork? Even at the start that's pretty much losing a round of bad guy smacking for giving everyone a buff that's about on par as a bless spell for 3 rounds. But I guess it should be noted, if you're playing Azata, all those free teamwork feats you get do apply to Life Bonding Friendship which kind of frees you up for more magical anime comic book powers.

Exactly the Tactician classes are not worth it.

i think monster tactician as an evil character would work better than good. demons are immune to eletricity, so the lightning bolts arent that good.

You do great videos, so I am not trying to knock you down. Sacred Huntmaster, to me is a D. Hunter gets an archetype with judgements, and a pet. It is simply better than huntmaster.

I rank the subclasses only against the base class. I do not rank them against other classes. In a strictly Inquisitor bubble, Sacred Huntmaster is not a D.

I find it odd that the Inquisitor thing are the jugements...yet most of the time the subclasses lose the jugement ability 😕

Owlcat when creating WOTR sub-classes & prestige classes be like: -I take the core thing that makes your class useful. -You receive random low rarity misc junk, that is not only completely irrelevant for your class in general, but also *dosen't* even scale with it in *ANY* way, AND could be potentially entirely counterintuitive for it, basically ruining whatever little could've been savaged in late game & making progression physically impossible on higher difficulties.

A few points about sacred huntsmaster: you can get a pet through your domain, albeit at level 4, and then needing to be level 5 to get boon companion. This very significantly diminishes the value of archetype. On the plus side, Azata do actually get instant enemy. Its pretty late in the game however (chapter 4) and the slots are very limited. You are giving up castings of believe in yourself to use the ability.

Dont rly get s tier on Hunter devine Hunter. I love sanctified slayer. Which imo is the better archtype berween the 2. Santified gets so many bonuses. Sneak . Study target extra feats and domain. There is no way devine Hunter going to beat that

I think you're running into the same problem over and over again. You assume people watched all the videos previous when most of the views probably come from someone popping in here for specifically the class in the video. Your regulars may also not watch all the videos but be popping into the middle of the list when they have time to watch a video. Also a 2 hour video is intimidating to a lot of people in terms of information videos. Understand most build in depth guides are less than 20 minutes.

The base class mechanics video has chapters so you can easily get to whichever class you want information on. If I included base mechanics in each of these class videos it would balloon their size significantly.
