I believe that the dense placement of the structures and an absence of firewalls and other fire - protection installations have fuelled the fire into an 8th alarm response. However: this is pure speculation, as I'm watching this footage on my computer in Germany. Anyway, thank God nobody was hurt! All the best!

Wow! I've never heard of an 8 alarm fire. Intense! Do you have an equipment number and type list? How many firefighters were on scene? Just some observations of a retired/disabled person who's seen a few smaller scale ones (I was staff writer/photographer, covering fires, accidents, police calls, etc. for the local newspaper for several years). Watching videos of large fires like this, I always wonder how they decide on size-up where to start and what with. I also wonder how they're going to fight a beast that sometimes can't be tamed. The tones always kinda scare me and I find myself really listening to roll call, making sure they're all out. Excellent video; the sights, sounds and angles involved in trying to put the fire out, and how you show ALL the workings, all that goes into the job. Thanks for getting the footage and sharing it. Stay safe out there.

I can’t afford a drone right now! I would love to have one. I’m in the process of replacing my video camera now….My present camera a Canon XA40 is giving me multiple issues.
