That area of Chile was colonized by German immigrants that started to come from 1840. In nearby towns like Frutillar and Puerto Varas you will feel the strong german heritage.

Yes it is great to have these people as our friends and neighbors. Thomas and I are planning a hunting trip with a good German Chilean way south. We are really excited about the trip and the time we will spend with our friend and his family. Jim

Jim, as always, thank you for bringing us along and showing some of what Chile has to offer through these properties. Although I'm about 1.3million away from that asking price, still like to at least imagine living in a place like that through your videos here. I am currently toying with the idea of raising sheep, and doing so on property like this would definitely be awesome. So, maybe one day. Anyhow! I have not been watching many of your videos lately, but, glad to see you're doing good. Merry Christmas to you and your family! Take care.

Yes I am sorry, I have not put up many videos lately, especially during this stupid virus scam. I plan on putting up some more videos about the Home stead soon as I have been moving along with our projects. Thank you so much for the kind comment. Also keep your eyes here as I do put up properties much less expensive. So there are many opportunities. Jim in Chile

The 9th Symphony. Beethoven. Lori, Samuel, Andrew and I performed this piece in our chorus here in Chile quite often but that was a few years ago. I just love classical music. Jim

Very kind of your to say. The sales price is stated at the end of the video. $1,400,000USD or what ever the equivalent is in Chilean Pesos. Today that would be approximately: $1,015,399,635.75CLP. The actual conversion date would be negotiated. Hope this helps. Jim

Yes it was taken off the market. They changed their mind during COVID to stay in Chile. Jim

Yes they do! The one on the far right blew its top about 4 years ago but because of the prevalent winds going west to east, all the ash blows over on to Argentina. The one center screen last blew when darwin was here on the beagle. Jim

Yes, every weekend they put up a fabulous show for everyone to see and enjoy.

This is a bit too big for me. Im interested in a smaller one story home but would love a view of the Pacific Ocean.

@@ChileExpatFamily Thanks Jim but I still have 3 years work till I get age 62, unless Im forced out for not vaxed. I am first going to explore the ENTIRE length of the South American Pacific coast from Ecudor to southern Chile to get a feel for what areas I want to concentrate on deciding to settle in. My gut tells me its going to be in a cooler climate thus Chile because I have spent so much time in extremely hot climates. My ultimate plan is to stay 6 months in USA, followed by 6 months in South America.

@@ChileExpatFamily Jim do you know of current land border crossing covid protocols by chance between Ecuador/Peru and Peru/Chile borders? These would impact a land traveler like myself trying to explore the entire South American Pacific coast minus Colombia. Im not vaccinated and refuse to take it. It may cost me my job here in only a matter of months and force me into an early retirement. If and when I lose my job I plan to immediately begin my South American adventure as I will be retired. I would be flying into Ecuador I would imagine Quenco and head for the tip of the northern most part of Ecuador coast and then embarking on my southern descent of the entire 3 countries coastline. Thanks for any info you may have on the land border crossing procedures, particularly in these covid times.

@@ChileExpatFamily I am hoping that they have a covid testing facility at the tip of southern Ecuador that I could test at to enter Peru and the same at the southern Peru crossing that would allow me to test prior to entering Chile or large enough city close enough to each border to test at that would fit the time requirements to cross each border.

Jim, is this property still on the market?

If the owners are asking that huge amount of money for their property, the least they can do is to hire a professional video maker with experience in real estate instead of an amateur young person to do this kind of work. I ended up with a headache half way down the whole thing. Don't be cheap.

Love it! I'm hoping to expatriate to Chile. I'm a late investor with 3 preteens. My 401k is still under $200k...would gladly dissolve it into an isolated property anywhere south of Santiago...I'm at the point you were when you left USA. But I'm a steam plant worker. What could I do there? I DO speak Spanish...

I do not see why not but I am not in charge of these things. You would need to apply for a visa and temporary residency in your country. I have a close friend who is in Dubi doing this right now. There is a specific process that Chile publishes. Jim
