PATAGONIA Ep.8 Torres Del Paine BvS & Thomas Heaton Workshop plus DEPARTURES Inspo
We've made it to TORRES del PAINE National Park!! On this first full day in the park I think we got pretty lucky with an awesome sunrise and some great light. Torres del Paine is a perfect location for landscape photography and the Patagonia Workshop took full advantage on this first day.
We also got hit hard with fierce winds later in the day. They picked up in classic form and helped shape some incredible Lenticular Clouds.
I hope you like the video and as always, thanks for watching!! You rock. #Patagonia

Thanks!! Yes Departures was an incredible program. The next installment Descending was also really great if you haven't seen that.
I think the slo-mo is what I love the most in these videos. The scenery is of course awesome but the subtle blending in of the slo-mo really makes the videos come alive for me.

Do it!!!!
While you, Thomas and Brendan shared some of the same B-roll, what makes your video stand out is the participants working with the other two. If someone were to have an interest in going on a workshop they would be wondering how they would learn, for example is it just group instructions or is their individual on location interaction. Because you're able to film the one on one it adds to the value a workshop would be with either of the leaders, hope they compensated you well for bringing that out over the course of the trip. What inspired you to do what you do was interesting to hear and brought out a personal side of your work, nicely done.
Thanks for sharing where some of your inspiration came from. Great videography! Really enjoyed how you captured Patagonia.
Departures is the shit!!!!! I love that show so much! Glad I found your channel from Thomas and Brendan. Definitely think that your cinamatography skills are top of the line. Keep up the good work.

I know your main brief on the trip was videography but those images you put up Greg were superb and as such, you are very much a photographer in your own right. I definitely see your career going from strength to strength with the skills you have as a photographer and a videographer. Keep living the dream man!!
Greg the videos are never to long, your skills at film making are so good I’m sure us viewers could last longer 👍👍 great work and hope to catch up with you one day on a workshop or here in Murcia Spain !!!

Man that mountain glow is just yummy, makes me think of strawberry icecream about now :) But a really insightful and well put together video Greg, it's got a cool flow to it with amazing music as well, loving the buttery smooth transitions you are the B-Roll King!
Hey Greg, thank you for this video. I went in Torres del Paine in february and sadly one week after my camera bag with all my gear has been stolen in the north of Chile... And I hadn't yet back up my footage so there is nothing left from the parc. So when I see such great views of the Cuernos, it reminds me of how crazy this park is. We hiked on the W so we didn't had the chance to get full establishing shots except with the return boat (not ideal conditions), but the memories stays in my heart. One day for sure I will come back to Patagonia and great images will be taken. By the way, I think you guys missed a nice composition with the burnt woods and the mountains at blue hour at the end of the video. Would have been great on a picture :) Good luck for your next travels ! From a french cinematographer

Hi JC, whoa what a story man. I was robbed once in Northern Chile too. Not a fun experience. Hope you had gear insurance and were able to deal with the loss back home. Good to know you'll be going back one day, and yes I know the feeling of being on the W trek well. Good call on the dead trees and the blue hour. We'll try that if the opportunity arises next year.

Greg Snell sadly my mastercard inssurance wasn't covering my case... So I had to buy everything again. A pricey lesson that you are never too safe about storing gear! Keep up the good work and good luck with your career! Would also love to make more travel content
Full episodes of the show are on Netflix! Keep up the good work... hope to meet you on a workshop with BVS in the future :)

Hi, wie geht's? Ja, der Rucksack-Clip ist von Peak-Design gemacht, ich bin mir ziemlich sicher, dass es der Peak-Design-Capture-Kamera-Clip V3 ist. Vielleicht schau dir die Beschreibung in Thomas 'nächstes Video...

ta mate... no website? I think marketing wise you guys are missing out by not using what you've done to promote yourselves and future adventures and share the experience fully instead of bit and pieces.
How could there be a British Columbia driving license plate? Did they ship the car? I also have seen the Departures!!!
@gregsnell
6 жыл бұрын
My guess is they drove all the way to Panama, then shipped the car to Colombia, then drove from Colombia down. Either way it's SUPER impressive and very cool to see in Torres del Paine!!
And for something completely different, see Western Walkabout on KZread.
