Pat's Kind of Roping

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Thanks to our friends in Leona Valley, we got to do a little roping on Amigo and Handsome this past weekend. This is the style of roping that we prefer. Especially when it's hot. So the next time you have the chance, think about roping feet, taking it slow and easy, and laying your cattle down from horseback. Thank you for watching!

My 3 year old Chapulín, is about the size of Amigo. I hope to get him as good as a cowhorse can get.

We just did a little practice like this the other day with 20 calves about 300 lbs. Had trouble laying them down because we would rope the head first. Gonna have to try grabbing a front leg like that.

A great way to knock one down if you have it necked and heeled is for the header to flip his slack out in front of the animal then have the heeler let the animal walk forward a couple steps over the headers rope with its front legs which allows the header to pulls his slack up under the belly of the animal and then he dallys and rides away infront of the animal which will drag its front feet out infront of it and it will fall down with no choking or getting off.

Nice work, low stress for animals, and for the rider. Like it.

We don't generally have any used saddles although that is subject to change. Our saddles are made in Chihuahua Mexico by a couple of brothers that we've been working with for around a decade. You're welcome to email us for more information: debpuckett@gmail.com
