"Narrative does not belong in a painting." I feel that quote has merit.

...it should be stated as "...narrative does not belong in my paintings..." I've always disliked painters' sententiousness...

I've known of Pat a long time. For many years, I could read about her only under discussions of her male artist relations, but eventually she became known on her own. I like her work.

I think its always very good to have a diversity of perspectives, cultures and a deep awareness and deep presence of lived Space, lived time, lived Life - a true wonder of sensing and feeling Life. Narrative can distract you and I agree very much. The painting happen. Its a surprize that moves you. 🎶🖤🎵🎨

I did photorealism for almost 15 years before I was brave enough to try abstract. If you really try it, it's not what you think it is.

So sorry you feel so threatened by paint on canvas.... have you considered seeking therapeutic aid to find the cause of these deep negative reactions, you would feel so much better if you got help...
