As a realistic Vikings fan, that is how I took Thielen's quote. I never thought he called Lambeau horrible, just the quality of the stadium like the bleacher seats. I will say this, Lambeau (bleacher seats and all) is still going to be a landmark in the sports world no matter how much tech, comfy seats, or whatever you can do to make a great fan experience, will still be less than Lambeau. Again, Lambeau is a landmark in the NFL and no fancy stadium is going to dethrone it!

Lambeau isn't nice, it's nostalgic. It has a ton of history and character, but it's totally unfair to compare it to Jerryworld, it's like comparing a '57 Chevy and a Tesla.

If the fact it's bleachers is the only argument they have, they don't understand how things work at Lambeau. Go ahead and sit while you are there, you aren't going to see much of the game. I did work there during the last big reno/addition there. I can assure you, the stadium is quite nice and has every amenity any other NFL stadium has.

You know damn well Adam meant they team up in MN but nobody wants to imagine Rogers in purple. 😁

As a Packer fan, I will admit the U.S. Bank Stadium is really nice inside, as is Ford Field. I went to the 2019 Pack/Viking game and was nearly deafened. The acoustics of the stadium are a huge advantage for the home team. 120+dB there vs 108ish at Lambeau. It was hard not to get pumped up for the Vikings during the pregame. That being said, I've also sat through many games at Lambeau. While I hate the benches in the lower bowl, there's nothing like sitting in the elements watching the game. The recent updates over the last 2 decades have been pretty awesome, just need to upgrade metal benches for the plastic seats they have in the newer sections. They'd lose the number of people they could sit but it would be way more comfortable.

Here's the thing, going to Lambeau would be cool. My nephew, who was coaching with LSU when they played Wisconsin there, posted a bunch of pics. He was thrilled, the team was thrilled. I don't know where the Vikings play football.

Just because it's historic doesn't mean it's a good stadium lol 😂

Lambeau IS old. However last time I looked we had 4 Lombardi trophies inside. How many have they accumulated over there in ViQueen land? I've literally travelled the world a few times and if we talk football and people find out where I'm from(NE Wisconsin)...I've lost count of the number of them who have told me they'd make Lambeau their first stop if they could go to an NFL game. I've also lost count of the number of people I've met tailgating in the parking lot who absolutely love the atmosphere. One of the reasons we have bench seating is so that it's much easier to clear snow...'cause you know....it's OUTSIDE where football SHOULD be played. A LOT easier to run a shovel across a row of bleacher seats than individual ones. Besides...the season ticket holders don't give two spits about it and bring their own seats to clamp on anyhow. Keep your inflatable stadiums or whatever bank now owns you....you'll still always be 3rd fiddle in the NFC north...

Adam Schefter is reporting Lambeau Field is getting luxury recliners for stadium seating.

Being from Hawaii with no Pro team. I can say even a run down stadium can have fond memories of years past. The only football team we have is the Rainbow Warriors who have bad sessions and occasional good seasons. The Aloha Stadium former home of the Pro Bowl was a run down rust bucket for decades. It took a pandemic to finally shut it down for good. Aloha Stadium had some good memories in NFL history when Pro Bowl games were actually fun to watch.

I'm not saying they should get a new stadium or something because it has so much history that at this point they should stay there as long as they can, but his criticisms are totally valid. It's small and cramped compared to modern stadiums, the seating isn't great, and the behind the scenes isn't as good as it is in other stadiums. If someone was to propose building a stadium like Lambeau today for an NFL team it would be rejected because it just objectively isn't a good modern stadium from a pure design prospective

What’s Thielen talking about? Lambeau has awesome amenities. For instance, the Mark Chmura Special Edition Hot Tubs and the Najeh Davenport laundry baskets in the locker room.

I agree with AJ Hawk, lol teams should go out of there way to make the visiting teams locker room basic. Make them cold as hell put metal seats and trash cans everywhere, only like 3 showers. 😴🙏😅

As a vikes fan, I think we’re all just a lil jealous they still have an old school, outdoor stadium. The best vikes home games I have gone to were during the couple years they played at TCF stadium, where the gophers play.

Respect it’s history for sure but objectively it’s not great when you consider the metal benches, sight lines, and overall aesthetic. The fans definitely make it a better environment, but if the jags or Texans played there it would’ve been torn down years ago.

Well it was torn down and rebuilt years ago just saying. This is the one that replaced the original stadium. It was built specifically to keep that old school feel with some updated systems. Like the field is one of the best in the league and the technology in it is rather cool. On that note...like the Packers really want the Vikings, Lions, Bears, etc to feel at home while visiting Lambo Field...they should be happy there locker room is heated during the winter months...lol.

My last football season which was about a month ago I went against a team there away lockerroom was a shed

@@jonturner7729 it’s actually been around since 1957. Making it practically the oldest stadium in league history. Before anyone says a word, no I don’t count Soldier Field. What the Mccaskey’s did to it could genuinely be considered a war crime. That is NOT Soldier Field, it’s an atrocity.

Considering the entire stadium has always been mostly paid for by stock sales, I'd say it's pretty good. They haven't always played at this exact field but this one has a rich, NFL-building history that the Vikings stadium doesn't have.

Rich history is a little overrated when you get too outdated. I'm sure you didn't keep your old color TV because of its rich history when Plasmas, HDTV, 4K, and etc. came out. Take memorable parts of Lambeau and transfer them to a newly updated stadium. Like the Boston Celtics could have taken their historic floor to their new stadium. There is a point when historic becomes inconvenient. They can even keep Lambeau and let high schools and colleges use it for big games. Use it for concerts. The Eagles kept Veterans Stadium when they built their new stadium. It is just an opinion. The fans love it then so be it, but maybe they haven't experienced another stadium to know better.

@@JohnStockton7459 -- It is outlandish but that is the point. That stadium is an outdated relic. A relic is still a piece of history. If it was small enough I would pack Lambeau up and put it in a museum. No reason to have the high school stadium football experience at a professional NFL team's game.

Man last year Adam thielen said he wanted to be a packer now he's making trash talks on lambeau Field how ironic.

I'm not a packers fan but I've been to Lambeau field and it's the coolest stadium I've ever been to. They did a beautiful job with the packers hall of fame. It's an amazing place to go if you are a football fan. I could care less about having latest technology. As if we don't have enough of that in our lives already. I'm going to the game to watch it not look at technology.

Stadium is nice but good lord upgrade the seats!!! Crazy how they really do have high school bleacher seats!!!

Walking out of there with a win with Vikings would be such a rare occasion for him it should be special.

Majority of Packers fans especially on reddit are overweight losers that would die doing a 100m run. The fact they live is Wisconsin just shows how pathetic they are. Packers are a great team undeniable. Thielen actually worked his ass off to make it the NFL from D3 school.

@@blazinearth93 No, the fact that the seats aren't used during the game is hardly beside the point. As far as being a whale, nope, just dated someone whose father was a season ticket holder and someone who had family that was blocks from the stadium and won tickets through the lottery for local residents. To be completely honest, the NFL stadium experience is way overrated. I mean, it's cool, but from the standpoint of actually watching the game, it's just plain better on TV and I don't care what stadium you are in.
