93 or 94 was the first madden I bought and 2020 was the last one I'll ever buy. I enjoy the game but am 100% over supporting EA. It's the same with all their games, the UFC game gets worse with each release

the future of madden is hopeless. unless we can find a way to give the NFL more money than they make through their contract with madden, nothing will ever change; madden will shamelessly make shittier games, NFL will turn their heads as they stroke their tens of millions from EA, and people who love football will continue to finance EA by buying ingame purchases from the only football game available. this is what happens when the free market is restricted. EA knows madden is absolute dogshit. If they cared, they wouldn't accidentally release "new" trailers with footage from past games (remember when they accidentally released the 2020 madden trailer with 2019 emblems on it lol). imagine how good football games would be right now if madden had to compete with 2k and other companies every year or risk going broke.

You also have the exact same issue with FIFA. They gave a speed stat to Bayern Munich player who has been on camera being faster than his team mate, yet his team mate was quicker in FIFA. EA’s issue is they need more people on their ratings team for Madden/FIFA etc 👍🏻

In Madden players with 98, 99 speed get tracked down by slower speeds like a rocket, they even added the ability to "lock in" a tackle from behind.

You are wrong my friend . I wish they busted out the same game for 10 years because I might still play it . Madden 15 for ps3 is the last Madden I could play ( i loved that game ) .......when they switched game engines for the ps4 , they ruined it . I haven't played any ps4 Maddens that is even remotely as good as Madden 15 ps3 . I can't speak for XBOX but for sony playstation its nowhere near the same game as 10 years ago . Madden 11 , 13 , 15 was extremely fun online and off .........the Ps4 Madden games are garbage .

CMC is 96 rated, higher than Jonathan Taylor. JT had more yards after contact than the 2nd leading rusher had total. CMC has played like 10 games in 2 years. John Madden is rolling in his grave.

The whole "step in the right direction" people need to realize Madden is taking small steps in a foot race and they're in last place. People need to start pushing for EA to stop taking baby steps and actually start trying with making a next gen console video game like every other sports game today like ffs they're still using the same old engine from 15+ years ago that was meant for first person shooter games...

They had AJ Hawk so slow one year that my brother once caught me on an encroachment penalty during a hurry-up offense, since he was able to get set and snap before AJ made it past the line of scrimmage

Rofl senior analyst gil brandt ranked him as 7th best punter of all time. He was in as the starting punter in year one. He served as the starting punter and holder for all eight seasons in indy. He made 2 pro bowls and was even named a first-team all-pro in 2014 as the best punter in football. And pff ranked him as the highest graded punter of the decade. I mean ratings don't even matter in Madden since its all animation based gameplay. Could have a 99 overall wr getting dominated by a 78 overall corner or a 6'5 TE being mossed by a 5'9 safety... It legit takes no skill to actually play and win like people always find and use cheese play away to abuse the idiotic and piss poor outdated AI schemes and gameplay

I beat a lot of fools in NCAA 2007 using Pat McAfee’s WVU Mountaineers. Option with Steve slaton and Pat white was unstoppable with Noel Devine and Darius raynaud. So many good times

Been a little bit since ive watched the show. Im glad to see aj hawk is still a part of the show. The on-screen chemistry between the two is great

I really don't know what EA has against the Steelers iin particular. -TJ Watt given a 96 OVR after one of the greatest seasons ever for an edge rusher (Myles Garrett given 99) -Minkah Fitzpatrick ranked #11 out of all safeties (not even top 10??? Really??) -Najee Harris #16 ranked RB (finished #4 in rushing yards last season despite a terrible o-line)

I’m fairly certain they slap the same ratings on every player at that position then just adjust certain attributes that are more fitting to that position. K or P iE kick accuracy and kick power

Yep. They have ceilings and floors, too. So, if they don't know how to rate a backup quarterback's speed, they'll slap an arbitrary 43 on there and call it good. Then, if you look at all of the QB's, sort by speed, you'll see around 20 guys (all backups) with speed ratings in the 40's, within a point or two of each other. Same goes with every position, like you said. There's a formula. A P with a high speed rating won't affect his overall rating, as much as a DB with a high speed rating will affect his. Awareness ratings help QB's more than any other position group, so on and so forth.

TJ Watt 3 Overall below Myles Garrett is horrendous. Haven't bought Madden or 2K in 5+ years so who cares

And here’s a thing, isn’t there mass stat keepers everywhere from Betting Businesses to Offical Premier League, NFL, NBA etc Then isn’t there a program that can be created to generate stats for video game counterparts based off everything they have done last season. I mean stats are recorded for everything from touching balls, tackling, running and everything thing in between. It should be easy, if your stats are generated in the game based off your real world stats from the prior season then there can be no complaints because your stats are what you earned.

I’d accept an excuse that some ratings are adjusted to balance the game, but when they say that they try to make it realistic they are just flat out lying.

I'm a science geek, and one of the classes I had in college taught us the importance of understanding the difference between accuracy and precision. Human beings by nature want to see a highly precise number so we can easily compare things, and marketing depts are very good at tricking us. If you ask two people how far is it to a gas station and one says 5.25 miles, and the other says ' about 6 miles'... we automatically assume the first guy is giving us better information.

The game is 3/10 the rating are 4/10 and the rating are terrible…

I've always thought Madden needs a evaluator on each NFL team, do away with "overalls" and just do stats. Like their speed, throw power, agility, etc. Instead of overalls, maybe add grades A+ to F- and then still have your 99 club named something else for a special selected group of 5-8 players? I think this would help people complain less.

Deion and Barry Sanders were 100 overall in '99 and apparently Jerry Rice was 189 in Madden98

It still amazes me how badly that EA messes up madden ratings. The data is literally everywhere. You can figure out ratings for each area of an players game in a matter of minutes. This is why I make the ratings of the players myself. I know I’m a sports analytics nerd but it’s extremely easy to do.

I would wait in line at Walmart for Madden to drop at 12:00 A.M. and skip school to play the next day. Now it's terrible....

If players don’t like their ratings- do a yearly test of “stats” doing whatever practices and then give them a # based off that. Whoever’s fastest will get that 99 speed obviously, etc etc

TJ Watt had a historical year, tied the sack record missing two full games and had two sacks taken away for unnecessary roughness and is the second rated edge rusher. The only stat myles garret beats TJ in is amount of people he's hit with a helmet but if Madden keeps doing TJ like this I highly recommend TJ takes a helmet to their office and pad them stats lol.

Myles garrets better. He's in a much less blitz heavy scheme, he's double teamed more, and he's going against left tackles instead of right tackles. And watts production is barely more than Myles. It's actually insane that this is even a conversion. People look at stats only and don't take anything else into account.

In the same time period tjs stats are an entire player better than Garrett's. System is the system, you don't get to say if he was with blank he'd do blank you play the cards your dealt and he's got straight flush for sure. But TJ is a royal flush no doubt about it.

EA does their “rankings,” but there’s a big problem In general with it. They are doing what they can working with players in the preseason and what happened the year before. They don’t look at what a actual player can do in the actual football game. Madden games just get me through until the actual NFL season starts, but I’ve always had a problem with how they evaluate and number each player and team in general.
