No one had ever backlipped a handrail that big. Not even close, and he did it in the rain.

you remember his backside lipslide how-to photo sequence from the rain session a couple months before the video? I was like "is that concrete wet?"

This video part truly unlocked the futute of heavy hiters. Thank you On Video Skateboarding for doing a Document on this legend. As well as to Mike Ternasky for putting h8m.on the original Plan B crew. Rest in peace M.T.

the way i see it....PAT pioneered STEEZE before it even existed...something about a dude that doesnt have to ride at MACH 5 speeds....that still blasts into hubbas...and fully clears sets....that puts his style on a different level. And i love speed and think speed is style....but this is the dude that pioneered that true street sage one with the spot steeze. Im a pretty big ethan fowler fan too but his style isnt everyones cup of tea. This era had some insane style pioneers and limit pushers. Speyer, drehobl, Duffy footage in SF is up there for me just some authentic steezed out ripping setting the standard HIGH for the next crop that would come.

Ahead of his time by 10 years. Shits nuts when you compare his parts next to what everybody else was doing at that time. He was embarrassing everybody who called themselves a street skater.
