Wow starburst are really different in the US. In the UK we have four 'original' flavours; blackcurrant, strawberry, lemon and lime, and orange. They don't contain corn syrup, and they're vegan, as in they have never contains gelatin.

MODIFIED CORN STARCH is the missing ingredient to make it gummy, in this case it's THIN-BOILING STARCH. I was curious as to what went wrong so I did some research, it's created by treating starch with acid and used in all sorts of chewy candies like jelly beans. Corn starch will not give you the right texture, just a guess but you may be able to substitute it with a mixture of LOW-DE MALTODEXTRIN and GUM ARABIC, those will give it chew and supposedly reduce "tooth-stick", that also explains the dextrin. Thin-boiling starch is apparently too difficult to buy.

I used to not like it. I couldn't understand why people liked it until I watched several episodes. And then it clicked. I think it's funny because it's basically real life. And you can laugh at their misery because it's not you. And it's funny to watch Jim prank Dwight. I live for those pranks.

I love Gabby so much, how she's so quick to listen to Claire when she asks for help. Also, my crush on Brad seems to keep growing with every encouraging word for Claire 💜. All them coming together, I think this is the best one so far 🤣
