Yes it is. I’m also from england and when I heard this I was blown away. Amazing to me that it didn’t win, but then if a eurovision song isn’t about forbidden love or daring to be different then it’s usually ignored for gimmicky nonsense these days 😅

I’m English and every time I hear this the emotion from the song cuts right through me I don’t know the translation and I’ve never wanted to know the translation. It simply doesn’t need it. My favourite Eurovision song of now and probably forever always reduces me to tears.

Actually if you translated it it still wouldn't disappoint. The translation they gave you is actually wrong, there's too much of the translator's opinion. But it is close and as you can see it's still good. I can't be objective since my mother tongue is Spanish but thank you for your comment!

Me reitero: calidad ante todo sin importar el idioma o el estilo, para sorprender o al menos mostrar que aquí hay más que paella y "Los pajaritos", que increíblemente siguen bailando en Benidorm... Bueno, este año puede que tengamos alguna esperanza, hemos sorprendido, pero parece que hay muchos que se ofenden porque es en inglés. No hay quien los entienda..

2023, 11 años después de esta actuación, Pastora era el Gran Premio de eurovision ese año, voz, puesta en escena, una de las mejores voces que tenemos en España! Nunca se hizo justicia! 😢

GamlaSonn It was always so! Portugal was always underrated in ESC even when there was no televoting! National Juries boycotted Portuguese entries when we were under a dictatorship! And back then the most common language was French! Now is English

I understand, something similar happened to me and it was worse for my older sister, my grandmother died shortly before this Eurovision gala and my sister was so sad that at my grandmother's funeral she endured her grief so as not to hurt herself because she was pregnant and she did not tell anyone in the family even to me that she was pregnant because even though it was good news she did not think it was good to say it to the family before she spent the grief for the loss of our grandmother, especially our mother, my sister said about her pregnant after Eurovision. We are Spanish and this song we understand lyrics, so reminds us a lot of our grandmother and by the song, by Pastora Soler and Eurovision 2012 we also remember the events of those months. Your grandmother was in amazings moments of your life. Those moments and memories what they do is that SHE STAYS WITH YOU FOREVER. Greetings from Spain.

Pete Tofky well it has another video with 1.600.000 more or less and the official video 1.400.000 I think

It placed 5th with the juries (below Sweden, Serbia, Albania and Italy), only 18th in the televote. And some people say the juries are a bad thing. (shakes head)

ESC Argy Unfortunately, they were given more power with the voting system introduced this year (2016).

setheurovision94 Well, I don't think so. The new voting system just helps entries that do really well with the televote/juries but not with the other group. For example, Israel and Malta, two jury favorites, would have done worse under the old voting system. Same goes for Poland and Austria, two televote favorites.

Aquí estoy en 2021. Cada año que se celebra Eurovisión vuelvo a ver esta actuación de nuevo. Y es que para mi, es la mejor. Grande Pastora.

es q es impresionante la apnea q tiene, esa capacidad de aguantar la respiración sin qdarse con aire e incluso manteniendo ese chorro de voz potente. en ese momento se cae el teatro a sus pies. es la mejor q a llevado España a eurovision sin duda.

Precisamente porque Pastora quedó 10º y porque ahora se quejan de que Maria tiene poca voz (que para decirlo en un tema tecno-pop pegadizo ya hay que empezar por ser paleto) o de que no entienden el español, es por lo que enviamos a Nebulossa. Ellos ni lo van a votar ni se lo van a pasar bien, pero el éxito les está forrando y nosotros lo vamos a disfrutar. Participamos porque somos de los 5 que más pagan y desde hace más años que nadie, por lo demás, no hace falta que se pongan más en evidencia, que ya les vemos venir desde hace muchos años.

One of the best songs at the Eurovision ever! You don’t need to speak Spanish to feel the lyrics - and I do so it’s even better! Hope Spain will send back this kind of song at the contest 🇪🇸💕

definitely one of the best performances ever in Eurovision 2010s...

this song has been the most battered in punctuation by eurovision in its 60 years of history. I was then living in Australia and I remember that the place was mute and there was loud applause when it was over. Everyone gave for winning but it was not like that. Congratulations Pastora. I think it's one of the best performances in the history of Eurovision.

Pues aunque parezca mentira, será siempre más recordado el Quedate conmigo, que el SloMo, independientemente de un 10° o 3er puesto (al menos entre los españoles). Sin desmerecer a Chanel en su actuación, pero esta balada queda grabada en la mente de uno, el SloMo pues no, sin menospreciar el esfuerzo que conlleva bailar una coreografía y cantar al mismo tiempo.
