Good morning, Ana - I grew up in Myrtle Beach and my High School friend, Angela Clark, was one of the last people to have a conversation with Mica. Angela was also the first to write on Facebook about her feelings on JP after Mica’s death. Pastor JP harassed Angela and her Husband when they left the Church. If Pastor JP didn’t get his way, he would use any means possible to get his way. JP shouldn’t be leading a Congregation, in my opinion. I’m a South Carolina resident and I will be contacting my Senator. We need Mica’s Law, the Coercive Control Bill! Thank you for covering Mica’s story. ❤

I am so encouraged to know people want the truth and wouldn't stop to find out the truth. My fiance was kidnapped from the hospital and restrained and isolated in the nursing homes for 90 days. He was abused severely, tortured to almost death and finally put to death. The church, government agency, the doctors, the chaplains in hospitals and the police department were all involved. I hope the media to disclose it and hopefully to stop more victims.

This pastor had NO EMOTION. He did something. His wife died the day before, yet he still preaches. My husband and I are pastors as well, we would ask our staff to lead so we could mourn. I was disturbed with her 911 call. She didn’t know where she was. How could that be? I think she was murdered.

He may not be husband of the year but she had attempted shooting herself in the head prior but the gun jammed (her own lawyer spoke of this) she bought this gun also that she killed herself with, on video, and she made the 911 call herself. Even with a gun to your head (if someone was forcing her to call 911) would u really be able to be forced to say what she said? That you're going to kill urself and want your fam to know where you're at, would your phone give exact location etc..yeah prolly not. The most logical answer is usually the correct one. Just because this husband seems to have been a crappy, controlling husband and ppl don't like his behavior, that doesn't make him a murderer. Lots of husbands are controlling, narcissistic and even abusive...yet don't murder their spouse. Its crazy to think someone would stage a murder as a suicide yet force the victim call 911 first to say they're going to off themselves? In psychology classes I took many yrs ago, I remember going thru the psychological effects of blaming someone for crimes due to their Looks or behavior. So basically unlikeable ppl have been wrongfully accused of crimes just due to public opinions. This case is very much similar. Also, fanily and friends don't want to believe their loved ones commit suicide. A fam member of mine who committed suicide even planned his bday party the following week, left a note to his wife saying he will get milk When he left work that day, drove to work, was more positive and happy than he had been in a long time yet committed suicide in the parking lot, before his shift started. This woman has a suicide attempt before, there's no evidence she wasn't alone, she herself made 911 call to make sure her fam could find her and professional LEO deemed it a suicide. Ppl just don't like her ex, understandably, but that doesn't mean he killed her. There is absolutely zero evidence he did yet there's multiple pieces of evidence that she killed herself.

So disturbing. Dictatorial and coercive of “his congregation,” rather than of a widower calling on other church leaders to share this “announcement.” I know coincidences happen, however there seem to be quite a LOT of unusual deaths surrounding this guy. Sociopaths really shouldn’t be ‘leading’ a congregation. Grooming morphs into coercive (covert narcissistic) control (abuse,) which no longer satisfies a pedo once they “age out,” of a demographic that keeps them interested, thus the slew of sexual impropriety. Predatory. I hope the law enforcement agencies can remove the blinders of “conclusion before examining ALL evidence,” surrounding this worm of a man. How dare he wear the proverbial cloth! Ana, I agree with you that unusual deaths should be firstly *ruled out,* for homicide or other before conveniently shutting the case as “suicide,” when poor Mica has clearly been brainwashed. Who knows what kind of psychological mind control had been used on her. People *choosing* voluntarily to commit suicide of their own accord tend to behave *very* happily once they have independently decided to end their own lives. There should never be a way for a spouse/partner to/bf , especially an ESTRANGED SPOUSE, to be able to deny an autopsy and cremate the victim. After all, most murders end up being committed by the spouse/partner/bf/ex!

Her body was found 40 meters from the gun and shells. It was in still waters with no current (A slew) and according to one was lodged between a log and a tree. How can a body float that far in a few hours under those conditions?!? That should be evidence to reopen the case.

Do you really think someone could get u to tell a 911 operator you're going to kill yourself and that u just want to make sure your family can find you? Think about it. Someone had a gun to your head and first of all let's you speak to 911, tells u to tell them ur gonna kill yourself...? Prolly not. The most logical answer is the correct. She once attempted suicide by gun before but the gun jammed, her own lawyer said that happened. she is on video buying the gun that she killed herself with and she's the one who called 911 herself and no evidence she was followed. Just bc someone was a jerk husband doesn't mean they're a murderer and it's illogical to think she bought the gun that killed her and called 911 herself, and think she was forced to do so.

The ex wife filed for sole custody and had some shocking allegations in the paperwork that was just released!

My brother and sister's dad killed himself and did the same thing. He called the police to let them know where to find him. He didn't want to traumatize anyone by finding his body.

Allison went to authorities with what JP admitted to her and to church leadership, mandatory reporters, about JP having inappropriate s e x contact with minors and the authorities brushed it off. Authorities said because JP was a prominent preacher, no one would believe that. The church mandatory reporters did not report to authorities and continued to allow JP access to minors. That's criminal.

How did he know it was self induced while the police hadn't given a report?

My sister died in 2006 the police said it was a suicide and didn't investigate anything... now years later we dont know what happened

I have experience with this also, twice my close family had reportedly passed this way, and very little to no investigation had taken place, once ruled, which was right off the bat- once, a tiny bit more straight forward, my aunt, and she had been in a separation with her husband, who found her- she was in the driveway with carbon monoxide, a vacuum cleaner hose rigged into the window. .. on the case, I’ve had some questions but , it’s more likely to have been a clear self led action- The other , my uncle, a gentle natured, timid and mild mannered gentleman , unmarried , and in his late sixties, with no serious mental issues, no access or ownership to weapons, and no warning turns up found w /weapon and quickly ruled _furthermore, this action would have taken place at our family’s friends home, a middle aged single woman , who would have had to deal with these things, and, this would not have been put on her- the latter was never looked into , can’t be put to rest- I say these things to say, I can relate to the no investigation , in both more obvious and less obvious cases - I do pray for peace over the entire process of finding some way to honor our loved ones and our lives going forward

THE AUTHORITIES ULTIMATELY FAILED ME AS WELL, Stating that since I moved away and the “stalker moved away “ then I wasn’t in danger. So since he put a reciprocating saw through my back, permanently disabling me for life then I suppose he isn’t a danger to anyone else either. I hate Horry County

What I find interesting is how he told the ppl in the church that he just received the call of her death the night before, and the time of her funeral was already set at 3pm the following Sunday. Already a time set for the funeral in less than 24 hours of notification smh

Such a tragedy. No doubt in my mind he had something to do with her death. If he didn’t do it,he had it done. I experienced a life similar to what Mica was leading. My husband was well known, mostly respected. He too said I had mental problems,interfered with my counseling. Accused me repeatedly of having affairs. One thing I learned throughout my marriage was that things I was accused of almost always referred to him. However,a psychopath never changes their behavior. I feared for my life, received beatings, constant emotional control, deleted hospital records, total control over money,friends,where I went with who,he had total control over everything in my life. He was also older than I moved me 2,000 miles away from my family & friends. Made me stop working,so I could no longer support myself. Constantly calling the police to have me thrown out of the house. No money to hire an attorney. A illegal pre-nup. After almost 40 yrs. I made up my mind to get out, even if I got nothing. Shortly before I left he was stricken with health problems. I stayed & took care of him for a year before his passing. Poor Mica, I know what it feels like to need help & protection & not get it. I will NEVER AGAIN date or get involved with another man. My trust in ppl has been destroyed.

He may have driven her to do it but, she killed herself. She had tried it in the past and gun jammed. Yes he’s a POS and now the world knows. It’s a PSA for other women. It was a suicide. Enough of the crazy theories that he pulled the trigger. Let the woman rest in peace already.

This case is so sad. It shows how devastating domestic abuse can be. But on the other hand it shows how dangerous true crime content creators can be. I’ve seen another very popular KZread true crime content creator say he had created her call to police using AI…. Making up absolute mad conspiracies! I feel so sorry for her family. They’re desperately seeking answers and other true crime creators are torturing them by making up stupid conspiracies

I read that Mica texted someone that she was not suicidal, and that if anything happened to her, JP did it. I think he hired someone... Hate to say that, but that's how I feel.

End another thing if I kill myself. I do not want someone else going to jail. Because I killed myself. Maybe there was some sort of domestic violence or emotional abuse. But I would not want someone to go to jail for me killing myself. It was something I did on my own note. So nobody thinks I'm in trouble. I am not going to kill myself. But if I did, I would not want the police to investigate someone else for my death. When it was my actions alone that killed myself. I feel bad for everyone involved.

Re that last call made It's exactly what goes thru the mind of some of us when suicidal I have attempted suicide and how and by whom I was found was paramount So the phone I had turned off as a missing person I turned on She needed help & protection & didn't get it Sounds like she just couldn't cope any longer It can be very hard to comprehend when someone dies by suicide. People seem to think there are certain signs that would jump out But you may ask for help many many times and people just can't hear you Really sad but I get it. Really do get it

There are other ways of killing someone other than physically pointing a gun at them or physical harming them yourself or getting someone else to do it. What I mean to say is that narcissists can drive people to suicide ; I am not saying this is the case here but I certainly know it is possible. I have been on the brink myself and know of others who have done this because of narcissistic abuse.

I heard that when people do commit suicide in days leading up to it family say they seemed so happy so they thought they were getting better. For some making the decision to do it does make them feel happy leading up to it as they now know there is an ending to their depression. Therefore in that period they can be happy.

How can JP expect people to NOT talk about it when he won’t shut his mouth? 🤔

I stand behind the community in this. Especially since I have seen other posts about voices being heard on her phone call indicating she may not have been alone. This certainly should be investigated more deeply. I want digital proof visual and live people able to give reports that he was where he says. He seems not to be trusted even by those closest to him. As for police not taking her asking for help as serious is an absolute reflection of our justice system. Not all, of course, but one is too many.

The Micah case bothers me. I've been in a situation where I asked the police for help many times AFTER I was almost killed by the ex. Luckily a judge did listen to me. I wish she HAD written a note because then there could at least be some civil accountability by the crucial justice system AND JP if necessary as alleged.

That pastor asked to not talk about it IN the Church as they leave. Obviously he wasn't up for questions and that he needed a repose for a while. His wife made the decision to say goodbye on the police call and then to commit suicide.

There's something wrong about that poor woman in her Facebook post. She bought the gun and ammo herself. Maybe the husband wasn't acting shocked and distraught during his announcement because he anticipated her going off the deep end? Could he have manipulated and gaslighted her into mental health instability? Of course. Is that something that can or should be charged as criminal? She pulled the trigger. Maybe he was an a-hole and she just didn't want to fight him anymore?

Theyve charged people for encouraging or causing suicide before, as they should. Mentally tormenting people is disgusting and toxic behavior.

I hate this channels format Now I miss the documentary type of shows not podcast.

sounds like the pastor had a lot of influence in their town and while he didn't directly pull the trigger, he drove Mica to it. perhaps this influence was due to him committing financial fraud, and if that's the case this will be a very interesting case to follow.

There is another stream about this case that played the 911 call Mica made and it had a man's voice in the background ⁉I think it was Pastor JP holding her hostage, and telling her what to say ⁉ 🤔 R.I.P. and Justice for Mica 🙏🏼
