People saying the writing in the bible can't be seen as symbolic but should be taken literally in every sense, and then they turn around to symbolize something completely incorrectly in many forms. Many hypocrites, but also people who genuinely want to find faith. It is becoming an odd scene.

Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived.”

    That is what true christianity is about. When you are born as a baby into this world, you are on the path of dying from a sinful life and going to hell. But dying is birth is when you accept Christ as Savior[saved in Jesus name] you also die to self[to your old sinful self]. You are a new creation at that moment. Your sins are forgiven and you push forward everyday to know Jesus more[build a relationship with him] and tell people the good news of Christ. It is the correct start of your forever[path to heaven to be with creator God infinitely].

    "Being born is dying and dying is birth." Great line. "Being born is dying"...We begin the dying process as soon as we are born, that is the first part. "& dying is birth"... At the point of conversion to Christianity., we die to our old sin nature of our first birth. When we receive Jesus into our heart, Jesus makes us new. We became a new creature through Christ Jesus. You see? Dying is Birth. Surrendering to Christ means Dying to our selves. This is what he meant by dying is birth aka Born Again. At that time, the Christian gains a New Life.

    At least from my point of view, what I've read, understood and have been taught, God does not hold you accountable for things you have done while not knowing if they were right or wrong, things that you have done "blindly" but only for those that you have done consciously, fully aware of their nature. My way of expressing might be not fully clear, elaborated enough or might be misunderstood but I hope my answer helps.... Also reading the Bible and searching for explanation or going to the affiliated passages might help so I highly suggest that. GBY all

    It's really not up for debate. There's a lot of psychological literature on this. Going to college is a form of delayed gratification. Doing an internship is a form of delayed gratification. If you can't delay gratification then you just spend all your money as soon as you get your paycheck.

  • @shoshonesasquatch1642

    @shoshonesasquatch1642

    @@TheArchiveOwl Its definitely debatable. Depends on what the self gratification is about and to what degree. I know several people who denied gratification for so many years they regret not enjoying that period of time more. You cant take money with you when you die. And others did nothing but try and find pleasure in every moment and realized years later they ended up hurting themselves. It's a balance. Theres a story about an old man planting a tree and a young boy asks "why did you plant that? You wont be around to see it grow or enjoy the fruit." The old man says "I live as if I were going to live forever." And the young boy laughs and says "that's funny, I live as if I were going to die tomorrow." Crazy thing is they are both right. If you are guaranteed to live till your 80 or 90, sure a good amount of time spent toward a long future is smart. But noone is guaranteed that and all we really have is this moment. Sorry for the long message haha

    The pastors mind hasn't been corrupted by learning the true extent of the lies humanity has been fed for centuries. I've spent my years arming myself with the knowledge I needed to be a sheepdog for Christ's flock and now my mind is corrupted by the lies. The pastor armed himself with the knowledge he needed to be one of Christ's sheep and now none of the lies affect him at all. Now all of us with corrupted minds can do is hope try to undo the damage that was done by try to go the way the pastor did. It's the only way other than being fortunate enough to be directly helped by God himself.

    Solid pastor and very wise words... To the young man wearing a wisdom shirt... You say your an atheist but question everything... I was once in those same shoes. I've been told to question everything and I have until a certain point in my life where I stood before God and he told me he was done with me! I didn't believe in Jesus let alone the Holy Spirit until this incident. But when I stood before the Lord and when He told me He was done with me, I was beyond hopeless! I knew I was damned by my own choices... when He clearly has been done with us this entire time because we took his grace for granted this entire time... I begged for another chance and he continued to tell me he was done with me because I wouldn't change from my wicked ways. It broke me hearing that the almighty was done with me and that the almighty has the final say... I went because I knew where I was headed. With all my heart I asked one more time for another opportunity and he said no, but maybe He can moving his arm to the right and Jesus stood there making a way for me and not just me but everyone who "believes"... My friend you have everything to gain by believing and everything to lose if you don't. But the choice is yours. I just hope that you choose to give Him an opportunity and He will show you without a doubt who He is, only if you choose to believe. I would love to talk with you in detail please. Because one of these days we are all going to die and that is certain and one of these days we will be standing in judgment. Now is the time before it's to late...

    “I believe... but, I’m going to search for answers to the questions I have.” That’s how I interpreted it at least. He kind of says that we’re taught not to question what we’re told about God, life, and heaven/hell and that being a “Good Christian” means to just have faith, but that searching for proof or answers to life’s questions isn’t wrong and doesn’t necessarily mean that you don’t believe.. just that when something is important to you, you want to learn all you can about it.

At the end of the song when he said" I believe" I think he meant that he believes in God but still have many doubts, still have many questions without answers, I ask myself the same questions... and yes faith and believe are two different words and have different answers... Dax waters seeds of doubt that I planted when I was agnostic. I identify with Dax and his lyrics, but I have been fortunate enough to reconcile and find answers by deciding to seek God. I pray that Dax and anyone else who is a curious agnostic takes the time to search their heart and pray. If you don't think anyone is listening... I promise you're wrong. God is love... start with 1 John 4:16. Don't give up... we don't have a lot of time here. You are loved by your creator ❤ Thanks for the commentary!

    @@captaindooo8638 But you know what if there is a God? What if there is heaven and hell? Christian family members just want to protect their family. He just want to protect his son. That's all what it is. You know what it's like a burning house. You see that it's burning and you want stop the fire. So the house isn't going to burn down. To save the house. Or you see a Alcoholic you want to save/help this person from the Alcohol. Because you know it's no good for them. But this person doesn't want to go away from the Alcohol. You don't wanna force this person (to believe in God from a Christian point of view) but you want this person to go away from the Alcohol and get saved (from God and that this person is happy and spend enterinity in heaven no pain, no tears. Just happiness) You I explained so you can understand it :)

    I would too. He is going to regret doubting. Because he is well aware that GOD is Alive and Real.
