In terms of dowary, there is no parent who has a sat of what to be brought. The daughter does not belong to them, she belongs to the society.

This discussion is not bringing out the point. Dowry depends with ones tradition. Like in our culture,a man pays dowry in instalments. A girls dowry is an equivalent of what was paid for her mother. If that is not done then the family will face some problems...it has consequences..
