smoothcollected You can't deny the mountain of evidence supporting it. 2013 census stats states 74% of Black homes are lead by Black women, with correlating negative consequences. Yet, when you compare families with both fathers and others in Black, White, Asian, and Hispanic homes, all the negative problems vanish we are equal. Then look at our African Bros/Sis, they are a totally different culture, that prides itself on men being dominate in families as a result, Nigerians are the most successful immigrants, earning more on average than white people. Yet, the power that be, will not tell you that. In stead, they want you make excuses on how whites are not helping us. African BTW don't even live around Black Americans. They even know this, and on average, will not marry a woman that wasn't raised with a father in the home.

Don’t even understand how someone will say he insulted the black single mother. I’m a single mother with two sons, and I wasn’t insulted because he spoke the truth and being a man he would know. Women don’t think like a man therefore we can’t advised or train accordingly. We can teach our sons the sensitive side of life which helps in the way they respect and love a woman and their children but a father helps in shaping them into a man as he is. This is something I learned during the upbringing of my sons. The focus of the time is in black folks loving each other as it is written “A castle divided among itself cannot stand.” The same thing he’s talking about is what transpired and resulted.... We’re up against each other again. Why not see the positive side of it and not look for a negative. The speaker’s words were spoken in love for his people and we all should be pleased to have these type of men in our corner. It’s Apparent the spirit of comradely stirs him up like it did Dr Martin King and his circle who fought with bravery for black folks. I’m sure Aretha would’ve been pleased with what was said as she herself was a single parent of boys. Our downfall is... Black folks don’t love their own. People treat your things as you treat them so just as we do our people others will do likewise. Wake up black people!!

MC Lamy You weren’t insulted because he called single mother proud, fine, and beautiful. He only clowned the men. That’s why the single mothers love this man bashing Eulogy, because he doesn’t speak on the woman’s role in single parenting. Only the men. In truth, woman deserted men for social programs aimed at fatherless families and feminist ideologies that pushed independence for women and marriage as an oppressive institution. That’s the truth and I can show you the footage if you want to see it!

My Pastor in tears and a counselor told me I had to leave.I finally did.We divorced but began abusing his kids during visits,so the visits stopped. My son has uncles, cousins, a step Grandad and a few men in church. No one reached out because he wasnt in trouble. He is very introverted. He works hard. He has no kids. He has no substan.ce issues. I even went to church, no connection. I raised him as best I could. I just have a hard time being called a Queen and belitting women, like me who have sacrificed everything to raise 3 kids alone.

No one is saying that what he said was incorrect our untrue. Outs simple... If the family had a certain expectation and felt disappointed, then he failed them. This should've been done solely with the family in mind. Not Black America, not Congress... Just her family and friends who probably feel thesame way he does about all he said. However I'm willing to bet their minds were more wrapped in the loss of their mother, grandmother, aunt, etc. If it were a private funeral with just family, he wouldn't have gone that route.

I don't think anyone disagrees with "what" he said but "where" ... he is a pastor after all and probably has preached this message more than 100 times over the course of his career but picking a funeral where the person celebrated was called "the queen of soul" seems to me as if he jumped off message just to say something boarder that he otherwise wouldn't have had "this" many to listen to ... we are all keenly aware of what plagues our community and while again; I don't necessarily disagree with what he said ... Aretha's funeral was not the place to do it

PG+ it's very simple. 2Tim.2-4, there's no particular season to teach what the words says, Cause by doing that, is the reason this wicked kingdom is successful in its wickedness. Without the true doctrine of the Lord, the people will continue to go off not knowing what they're doing is wrong. & 1 main thing people have to realize is that when we die, we don't instantly go to some flowery kingdom of milk & honey, Ecc.12:7 the body came from the earth, & to the earth it shall return, but it's the spirit in you that returns to the Lord in the Judgement seat, where u will have your final judgement as to what did you actually do in the name of the Lord as far as keeping his commandments. & as the word says... ALL have sinned, & come short of the glory of the Lord.

I am a grandmother helping my daughter raise her 14 year old son without a husband/father in the home. It is not easy; but with the help of God...He is blessing her to do a fine job! There was no need for Williams to insult single black mothers the way he did. For the most part, single black mothers are not asking to do this alone.....they are doing the best they can with what they have. For him to make that statement that single black mothers can't raise a man; is insulting and pretty much untrue! I know and have known plenty of single black mothers who have done a fine job raising good responsible sons into grown men taking responsiblity as good citizens and spouses! He was supposed to laud the life accomplishments of Aretha....who was a single mother as well....and not insult the female demographic of the world who could relate to the pain, truth and passion she poured into the music that spoke so well as to what they were experiencing within their own lives! He is a reprehensible chauvinistic! I heard Williams preach at a church here some 30 plus years ago; and he was very powerful in the Word of God.....and that's where he should stay!

It was a 'sensitive' time for all of us, including this speaker, however, under those circumstances, overall, I feel he was led by the spirit, as well as his heart. Agape

Now when you leave this world you can have whom ever you want to speak over you and about you and nobody will have nothing to say about who you choose..... first thing whomever you pick you won’t know what the hell they talking about anyway your lips and eyes will be glued shut literally..... lol so you just pick the person to talk about you or whatever and you just lay there and rest.......🤦🏾‍♂️

No one is denying the truth but it could have been done better! And if he was seeking a world state why do the interview?

Why wouldn't he stand by it. The highlight of it came when he said The gays need to accept the straights and the straights need to accept the gays. That was a revolution for a pastor to even touch on that let alone agree to it. He should be commended not given any strife. This man knew a personal side of Arethas father when he said. He might not have been the best father but he did support his daughter and encouraged his daughter.

Black people are too emotional and it plays out everyday on social media because as a people we are complete immature when it comes to political speech, and revolutionary action, which is y we as a nation are still subjugated by people we want to love us while in the same sense giving each other nothing but selfhate.

Correct me if I am wrong, but the funeral was held at a Pentecostal church so I was looking indeed for someone who would bring the Word of the LORD and you delivered!!!! Thanks for being bold and courageous and sharing what all of us needed to hear. I believe your message was a clarion call to preachers who have compromised and to blacks who have settled... Thus, it was prophetic. Your message was from a place of LOVE, even the Heavenly Father's heart. Net-Net, we are proud of you sir. Aretha made the right decision asking you to eulogize her funeral. Pastor Jasper Williams, you are totally correct. It seems that too many of us Blacks are satisfied to reject plain common sense (because that's exactly what you are making: plain common sense). You and Rev. C. L. Franklin share the very same sentiments concerning the Black struggle. The both of you think alike, and just like he did, you are trying to help us Blacks get on a better track. You told the people at the funeral the plain, raw, naked truth, and many were too full of denial to accept it. Pastor Williams, you remind me of Solomon in your wisdom. If each of us would stop trying to hide behind the walls of our excuses and simply follow your wise instructions, our terrible situations would change over-night. But long ago the people refused to accept the truth from Jesus Christ also, right? Thank you, Pastor Williams, for loving us enough to tell us the truth. THE TRUTH IS THE ONLY ENTITY THAT HAS THE POWER TO MAKE US FREE. You see, Pastor Williams, it would be very wicked of you to withhold the TRUTH from us just because some prominent people might not like it. Thank you for your righteous heart to LOVE us Blacks so well!!!!!!!!!!

Aretha Franklin chose Pastor Jaspor Williams to deliver her eulogy , I think she knew he would bring to the attention of her people the importance of family , We as a people have forgotten about the high dysfuctional family ratio in our community compared to other communities. It is because of the break down in the family we have a higher provety rate , until we can understand and appreciate our own families , how can we blame other people for our neglect . when we can begin to heal our communities and come together as people fight together in the judicial sustem , and break down the the walls that have been built to separate us as a people , them we can bring healing and progress to our community, so many of our people are in prison and jail this has been one of the greatest strategies used to weaken the family unit, when you bind the strong man of the house you destroy the family . We must start to rebuild our families, begaining with our men . Our men think because they can have a women in ever county that makes them a man, no it makes you a coward, because its easier to run from place to place and not build a foundation for a stable family , you bring disrespect to the woman and her children, teaching them nothing , except your not worthy of my full devotion, so the example you have show them is one they posssible will continue on in their lives thinking this is a way of life. Rev. Jasper Williams said what needed to be heard, Aretha Franklin gave him the platform to do so, and who are we to speak about what he said in a negative why , oh yes some want to silence the truth about the communities we live in. Our people parish because of the lack of knowlege, never stop shinning light in the darkness that is leaving some struggling to raise children alone. When we look the other way at the problem, don't blame others for our own lack of respect for our people. Peace and Love to all.

That is such a worn out phrase.....'we as black people simply don't want to look in the mirror!' You and He make it sound like ALL black people are worthless and going to hell in a hand basket....that our lives are not worth anything.....and that is NOT TRUE! NOT ME AND NOT MINE!!! Yes...these are social/racial issues that need to be addressed.....BUT NOT at Aretha's Homegoing Celebration! He was suppose to talk ONLY about her, what she stood for, what she contributed to the entire world; how dedicated and supportive she was of her family and friends; how she witnessed for the Lord Jesus Christ wherever she performed; and the joy she brought to others. The kind little things she did for people and didn't want any praise for doing them....because they came from her heart! Aretha knew what it was to be a single black mother raising black sons; yet he insults millions of other single black women who are doing the same...while standing there looking down on her casket! I know who Jasper Williams is....heard him preach at a church here some 30 plus years ago; and he was very powerful in the Word of God.....and that's where he should stay! I don't live in Detroit...but I haven't heard NOT one peep about what he's doing to try and turn things around for the Black Race....not one thing....I could be wrong.....and I hope I am....but if he is such a bad mama jama...surely we would've heard something on a national level about what he's trying to do to help.....instead of bad mouthing single black mothers.....and I am not talking about him just preaching about it....what actions has he taken!
