This actually makes sense, anya has telepathy powers which would probably give her the biggest possibility of becoming deaf based on how often people “think” per day. If she reads peoples minds when they are overthinking chances are that would be what a normal person hears within 12 days in 1 whole day for anya, im not sure if it would affect how she speaks but just saying she could possibly become deaf. As for shoya when he was young ofc he was a bully so that’s already similar to damian.

I never finished watching A silent voice cause at the time I was depressed and I thought the anime was a wholesome romance anime but when the bullying and other stuff started to show up, it hit a little to close to home cause I was getting bullied for how I sounded and with my speech impediment since grade 3 till I graduated high-school
